Samsung Galaxy M21: Smartphone with 6,000 mAh battery

Samsung has introduced a new smartphone, the Galaxy M21, which is aimed at a young target group that spends a lot of time in front of the smartphone display. For this purpose, a 6,000 mAh battery is installed, which is supposed to provide for an especially long battery life. Thus, the device should certainly be interesting for other groups of buyers as well.

The Galaxy M21 is designed as the successor of the Galaxy M20 and can be classified below the medium class smartphone Galaxy M30s. Compared to the M20, the M21 has a 1,000 mAh larger battery, a camera with three instead of two lenses and a faster chip.

The highlight should be the 6,000 mAh battery. According to Samsung, this is enough for 22 hours of LTE internet use, 22 hours of WLAN internet use, 29 hours of video playback, 131 hours of music playback or 49 hours of telephony via LTE.

But the smartphone is not badly equipped in other respects either. An Exynos 9611 is used as the processor, an octa core with 4x 2.3 GHz and 4x 1.7 GHz. A Mali-G72 MP3 is used as the graphics unit. As main memory, 4 gigabytes are available. Apps and other files can be stored on the 64 GB internal memory, of which about 49.5 GB are free. The memory can be expanded by up to 512 GB via MicroSD card. Of course, this is not high-end, but should be more than sufficient for everyday use.

The main camera of the Samsung Galaxy M21 has a resolution of 48 megapixels (1/3.0″, F2.0). The smartphone is also equipped with an ultra-wide angle camera with 8 megapixels (1/4.0″, F2.2) and a depth camera with 5 megapixels (1/5.0″, F2.2). The latter provides a bokeh effect for portrait shots. But the single 20 megapixel front camera (1/2.74″, F2.2) also supports this effect.

The Super AMOLED display of the 159 x 75.1 x 8.9 mm and 188 gram smartphone is 6.4 inches in size and has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. The Galaxy M21 also features Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Samsung already relies on Android 10 as the operating system with its own One UI 2.0.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 is now available for 219 Euro RRP in blue, green and black in the Samsung Store. Dealers will follow from April 27th.
