Schenker XMG Neo in 15 or 17 inch with fast WQHD display

The new XMG Neo from Schenker are the first gaming laptops with a 165 Hz fast WQHD-IPS display. The XMG series stands for continuous innovation and highest gaming performance.

Optional WQHD display and 165 Hz

The Leipzig-based company Schenker has now released two gaming laptops with a 165 Hz fast IPS display and 2560 x 1440 pixels. The difference between the two models is the display size – the Neo 15 has 15.6 inches and the Neo 17 17.3 inches. The WQHD display and 165 Hz technology are optional and are offered as an alternative to the 240 Hz FullHD display. With WQHD resolution, pixel density increases to 188 ppi for the Neo 15 and 170 ppi for the Neo 17, brightness is over 300 cd/m² and SRGB color space coverage is close to 100 percent.

The optomechanical keyboard was already used in the first XMG models, and is now also used in the current models, allowing users to enjoy the precise pressure points of the input device. The tactile silent switches have a stroke of two millimeters and a switching travel of one millimeter. An actuating force of 60 g (cN) is required to trigger the switch. The keyboard supports N-key rollover and anti-ghosting and offers RGB single-key illumination.

In the highest possible configuration, the two gaming laptops have an Intel Core i7-10875H with eight cores and 16 threads. With a graphics card up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, no gamer will be left with any wish unfulfilled. The main memory is also freely selectable, whether 64 GB or up to two M.2 SSDs with PCI Express connection, everything is possible. Thus the Neo 15 or Neo 17 becomes a high-end gaming laptop of the upper class and AAA game titles with high frame rates are no problem.

Cooling brings good performance

Liquid metal was used for processor cooling on both gaming laptops, making the XMG neo-laptops up to 9° C cooler than comparable laptops at full capacity. The connections of both models are also the same. They offer Gigabit-LAN, WiFi 6, have an SD card reader, a jack socket for the headset, Thunderbolt 3, three USB 3.2 ports and HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 support. The battery capacity of the NEO 15 is 93 Wh, the NEO 17 62 Wh. The dimensions of the XMG NEO 15 are 359.8 x 243 x 23 mm, with a weight of 2.1 kg. The XMG NEO 17 weighs 2.5 kg with dimensions of 395.7 x 260.8 x 27.45 mm.

Availability and price

Both models are available immediately at bestware.com. They start at a price of 1,753.64 Euro for the XMG NEO 15 and 1,831.63 Euro for the NEO 17. In the basic configuration, the gaming laptops have the Intel Core i7-10875H, a 240 Hz fast Full-HD display, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, a 250 GB Samsung SSD 860 EVO in the M.2 form factor as well as a refresh version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (Max-P). The WQHD display can already be pre-ordered for the NEO 15 at no extra charge. Delivery is scheduled for mid-December. The NEO 17 with the new display can only be ordered towards the end of December.
