Honor MagicBook 14 2022 presented: Compact laptop with Intel Core i5-12500H

Honor switched from Intel to AMD CPUs with the MagicBook 14 in July 2022. Now, the Honor MagicBook 14 2022 is also available with an Intel Core i5-12500H, while the rest of the components remain largely the same.

The Honor MagicBook 14 2022 in detail

After the AMD variant in the summer, the Honor MagicBook 14 2022 now also comes with an Intel CPU. The notebook, which is only 16.9 mm thick and weighs 1.54 kg, is offered with the Intel Core i5-12500H and integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics unit. Honor thus relies on the hybrid CPU core architecture and asynchronous 12-core and 16-thread processors and a maximum clock rate of 4.5 GHz.

In addition, there are 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5 working memory and 512 GB of system storage. The battery also has a capacity of 75 Wh, which should be enough for up to 15 hours of video streaming with the Intel CPU – about two hours less than the AMD counterpart. The battery is also charged via USB-C with up to 65 watts.

The display is also identical: The new Honor MagicBook 14 2022 uses a 14-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio. It offers a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and 185 ppi accordingly. The maximum contrast is 1,500:1, while the display reaches a maximum of 300 nits typical brightness. The sRGB color space is also supposed to be completely covered.

Two speakers and two microphones are also installed, while the webcam has a 720p resolution. Honor also installs a fingerprint sensor in the power button, while NFC, Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.2 are offered.

In terms of ports, there are two USB Type-C 3.2 Gen2, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, one HDMI 2.0 and a combined 3.5 mm jack. The notebook is made of aluminum alloy, while the surface is sandblasted to deliver a pleasant feel.

Price and Availability

The new Honor MagicBook 14 2022 with Intel Core i5-12500H processor is already available in stores. Amazon is the only retailer currently listing the notebook for 1,114.11 euros. More details can be found on Honor’s product website.
