Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini: New compact bone sound headphones introduced

Manufacturer Shokz is going full throttle with its bone-sound headphones. After the OpenSwim in August and the OpenRun Mini in April, the manufacturer is now launching the improved Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini.

Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini in detail

The Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini combines the compact dimensions of the Mini model with the capabilities of the OpenRun Pro, which we were able to test ourselves in March 2022. For a perfect fit during workouts or cycling, a shorter and lighter titanium bar on the back ensures a perfect fit. With TurboPitch already familiar from the OpenRun Pro, it also comes with the latest generation of Shokz’s patented bone-conduction technology.

The shortened titanium bracket of the Bone Sound headphones is of course aimed primarily at people with a smaller head circumference, but it should also be useful wherever a firm grip is needed. For example, under a bike helmet or cap.

Sonically, the Pro Mini relies on TurboPitch technology, which was already used in its larger sibling. Thus, the manufacturer promises powerful bass, clear mids and detailed highs, and that without having to put the headphones in your ears. After all, the sound is transmitted via bone sound and vibration.

This naturally provides an additional degree of freedom and comfort. However, you should not expect miracles in terms of sound, but you perceive more of your surroundings.

Durable battery

The Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini also has a large battery, which should allow up to ten hours of playback of music, audio books, podcasts or phone calls. Just five minutes on the magnetic cable is enough to get the headphones ready for 1.5 hours of playback.

As sports headphones, the Pro Mini naturally has IP55 certification and is thus protected against rainy weather, sweat and dust. For voice reproduction, a microphone including dual-noise-canceling technology is also used, which should ensure clear voice reproduction.

Price and Availability

The Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini bone-sound headphones are available now in stores, as well as in the manufacturer’s web shop. The model is offered in the colors black and beige at a recommended retail price of 189.95 euros.
