Superhexa Vision: AR headset with microOLED and smart functions

With the Superhexa Vision, an exciting augmented reality headset finds its way onto the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, which has already exceeded its funding goal by over 600 percent. The strong technical features in particular are making interested parties sit up and take notice, as the range of functions is quite impressive.

The Superhexa Vision is launching on Indiegogo

The Superhexa Vision AR headset comes with a high-resolution microOLED display from Sony, which has an impressive brightness of 1,800 cd/m² and a particularly sharp resolution with a pixel density of 3,256 ppi.

The headset is a practical helper for various applications and is also supposed to score in content creation, such as live recordings. The manufacturer has installed two cameras, a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera and an 8MP zoom camera.

The latter offers a hybrid 15x magnification. The dual-camera system should come in handy when hiking or biking, for example, while the manufacturer touts its vlogging, live-streaming, and video capabilities.

You can zoom in on the action with a simple swipe gesture and quickly record photos with a touch gesture. Videos, for example, can be started via voice command without you having to use your hands.

Also offered is a fast hybrid autofocus, as well as intelligent face detection including head tracking. In flashback mode, the Superhexa Vision is said to even record videos for 10 seconds before you even start recording.

AR capabilities as an accessory

The manufacturer describes the augmented reality capabilities of the Superhexa Vision only in passing. For example, this is supposed to allow real-time speech-to-text translations in over 10 languages.

Plant recognition is also offered. After taking a photo of an unknown plant, it is immediately identified, while the AR headset creates a professional plant map. Children and comic fans can also use a special comic mode, which should make for some stylish pictures.

The AR headset is also expected to be able to add new features over time with the help of OTA updates, while the manufacturer plans to supply software developers with the ability to create their own specially customized programs starting next year.

Price and Availability

The Superhexa Vision is funded via crowdfunding on the Indiegogo platform. In the Super Early Bird offer, 404 euros are due for the AR headset, the RRP is actually around 708 euros. Worldwide delivery is scheduled for November 2022.
