Ossby Geo on Kickstarter
Weighing just 11 kg, the foldable Ossby Geo e-bike is currently being funded via Kickstarter. It is made of fully 100 percent sustainable materials such as recycled fibers and plant resin, with a modern, unique design. The manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on the frame.
Thanks to its low weight and patented EasyUp folding mechanism, the Geo is quick and easy to take anywhere. The folding is to be done with only one handle particularly fast and go in only one second over the stage, so the manufacturer. The handlebars are also said to align with the e-bike when folded, which further improves space-saving transport.
Modern technology
The Ossby Geo also has a lot to offer in terms of technology. From high-quality fiber forks to powerful hydraulic brakes and integrated LED lighting. The Geo is powered by a 250-watt motor that provides pedal assistance up to 25 km/h.
The lithium-ion battery is hidden in the frame and should allow a range of up to 50 kilometers. A full charging process takes four hours. The manufacturer also promises over 500 charging cycles.
While that’s a significantly lower range than other folding e-bikes, such as the OXFO OX1 or Zectron bike, they also don’t rely on 100 percent sustainable materials.
In addition, the e-bike can be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. The companion app then provides additional details on battery level, range or lets you choose between different modes for pedal assistance.
Price and availability
The Ossby Geo folding e-bike is being financed via the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Here, the planned goal of 50,000 euros has long since been exceeded, and the campaign still has 20 days to raise more money.
For a price of 1,234 euros, you can secure a copy of the foldable e-bike including an elastic cover. The manufacturer’s RRP is actually 1,899 euros, and worldwide delivery is expected to start in June 2023.
