Teufel Radio One: HiFi radio alarm clock with rich sound presented

“Waking up has never sounded so good” is the promise of the Berlin manufacturer Teufel for the newly introduced Teufel Radio One hi-fi radio alarm clock. The alarm clock wants to convince with an exceptionally good sound, but comes up with a correspondingly proud price.

What’s in the Teufel Radio One

Those who prefer to be woken up by their smartphone due to the still manageable audio quality of common radio alarm clocks, but would prefer to be torn from sleep by their favorite music, should make a note of the Teufel Radio One HiFi alarm clock.

The manufacturer promises a powerful sound with integrated Dynamore technology, which is supposed to provide a particularly wide sound stage. The sound comes from two 2-inch full-range drivers slightly tilted sideways outwards and a large passive diaphragm on the back of the alarm clock.

In addition to classic radio reception via FM or DAB+, Bluetooth 5.1 and a 3.5 mm jack input can also be used to play music. Three station memories are available for each of the two radio reception paths, and the throw antenna is integrated almost invisibly into the rear of the housing on the Teufel Radio One.

Wake-up tones or chimes of the Memorial Church

All important functions are accessed directly via buttons on the front of the device. A sleep timer for 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes is also available here. The extra-large display behind the fabric covering can be adjusted individually (automatically or manually) in terms of brightness. There are various options for operation and standby to choose from. This makes it possible to illuminate the display only very dimly at night or to turn it off completely.

If you still want to do without music when waking up and use the Teufel Radio One more or less as a clock with an integrated speaker, you can fall back on different alarm tones. A total of four sounds are available, including the “Berlin” option, which wakes you up with the chimes of the Gedächtniskirche.

In addition, the Teufel Radio One offers individual alarm settings: once, daily, only on weekdays or only on weekends. One-time alarms can also be set for a specific date, days in advance.

Price and availability

The Teufel Radio One is available now on the manufacturer’s homepage, as well as in all Teufel stores at an MSRP of 169.99 euros. The two color variants Black and Light Gray are available.
