Thrustmaster T128: New steering wheel available for Xbox consoles

With the Thrustmaster T128 Racing Wheel, all Xbox fans can look forward to a new steering wheel, while the variant for PS4 and PS5 is still waiting until the end of October. Both models are compatible with the PC.

The Thrustmaster T128 in detail

Thrustmaster unveiled its new force feedback racing steering wheel at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. The T128 features the same next-generation HYBRID DRIVE technology as its big brother, the T248, which they unveiled in September 2021.

It uses a combined belt and gear mechanism for force feedback performance that is 20% stronger than Thrustmaster’s previous T150 and TMX racing wheels. Add to that a four-color LED display that provides information on engine speed, as well as paddle shifters and pedals that feature high-quality magnetic technology.

The Thrustmaster T128 aims to make all the characteristics of the race track tangible thanks to Hybrid Drive. From bumps to shocks, the speed, loss of traction and many more. This should also be able to make you faster as well, as you can feel if you are just on the racing line or off the track picking up dust and dirt.

H.E.A.R.T. magnetic technology with Hall effect sensors

Furthermore, the Thrustmaster T128 relies on H.E.A.R.T. magnetic technology with Hall effect sensors. This eliminates dead zones, while the smoothly operating system allows for faster response.

The T128’s magnetic paddle shifters enable lightning-fast shifting with a clear and precise trigger (30 millisecond response time) for competitive performance and to eliminate driving errors.

Contactless magnetic technology also extends the life of the shift paddles, whose sound design has also been revised for more unobtrusive operation.  The dual-pedal T2PM pedal set also features the same magnetic technology for quick acceleration and well-metered braking.

The T128’s round steering wheel rim offers a rotation angle of between 270 degrees and 900 degrees, which is automatically adjusted to suit the type of vehicle. In addition, there are 13 controls that allow use entirely without a gamepad.

Prices and Availability

The Thrustmaster T128 Racing Wheel comes in two models, both of which are in turn also compatible with the PC. The first model is officially licensed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One and is available in stores now at an MSRP of 199.99 euros. The variant for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 will follow on October 27, 2022 at the same price.
