TP-Link presents products with WiFi 7

TP-Link (official website) has made an announcement that should not please the competition. Thus, the expert for network solutions already wants to point out its upcoming devices with WiFi 7 on board. With the new standard, we can apparently expect breathtakingly fast data transfers.

TP-Link will offer WiFi 7 from 2023

Slowly but surely, WiFi 6 has established itself as a new standard in the field of network solutions, which is no longer reserved for premium products. Instead, WiFi 6E is used as a small but fine extension for the flagships. But that is apparently not enough for TP-Link. The company is forging ahead and has already presented its upcoming products with WiFi 7 compatibility. And that, even though the new standard is actually not supposed to come on a broad scale until 2024. The Chinese manufacturer wants to sell the total of 16 upcoming devices, which should all be able to offer WiFi 7, as early as the first quarter of 2023.

Archer BE900 offers four radio modules for WiFi 7

The kick-off of the company’s WiFi 7 offensive is said to be the Archer BE900. This one is supposed to convince buyers especially with its astonishingly good equipment. Thanks to the total of four wireless modules, which all support WiFi 7, amazingly high transfer rates are supposed to be possible. TP-Link talks about a total of 24 GB/s. But the WLAN router’s usability is also supposed to be trend-setting. The manufacturer wants to equip it with a touch display, which will be used for operation.

On the integrated display, the router can then also display a kind of widget, on which, for example, the weather report is displayed. Thus, it should also be possible to place it comfortably in a homely atmosphere without it attracting negative attention. In addition to the new flagship in the form of the B900, we will probably also get somewhat less equipped models that will be available at a lower price. TP-Link is talking about the Archer BE800 and BE550 routers.

However, the company is also looking to launch a custom gaming router. This is said to go by the name Archer GE800 and be able to offer a combined data rate of 19 GB/s. That might be lower than the B900, but the GE800 is also supposed to offer a decisive advantage for gamers. Thus, TP-Link installs a dedicated Ethernet port here, which is supposed to have the highest priority. One then simply connects a PC or console to this.

New products for mesh and provider routers

In particular, fans of smart home solutions should have been pleased with the announcements about new mesh products. TP-Link wants to launch three new mesh nodes, the BE95, BE85 and BE65. Suitable routers are also to be launched for providers.

TP-Link speaks of a total of six different models. The manufacturer then divides these again into three different groups. In addition to routers that offer mesh support and classic Ethernet routers, two models with fiber support are also to be launched.

Prices and availability

TP-Link is giving us a comprehensive look into the future with its new launches. So far, we only know that the Archer B900 is scheduled to launch in the US in the first quarter of 2023. It remains to be seen to what extent and when we will be able to access the new product range with WiFi 7 in European stores. However, since the new standard is not supposed to arrive until 2024 anyway, we should not buy prematurely.
