TP-Link Tapo RV30 and RV30 Plus: new vacuuming and mopping robots

TP-Link, a well-known provider of network infrastructure and smart home products, has launched two new models of its vacuuming and mopping robot series under the Tapo brand on the German market. The RV30 and RV30 Plus models differ mainly in the RV30 Plus’s docking station, which enables automatic emptying of the robot.

Technical features of the Tapo models

The two new models, RV30 and RV30 Plus, are equipped with a LiDAR and gyro dual navigation system that enables precise mapping of the spaces to be cleaned. This is designed to help avoid omissions or repetitive cleaning and allow effective cleaning even in the dark. Both models can save different floors as separate maps, which is especially beneficial for homes with multiple floors.

The vacuuming and mopping robots have four suction modes with different suction power for different surfaces and dirt. The integrated 3-stage electronic mop and an electronic pump are said to ensure thorough cleaning of hard floors. The RV30 and RV30 Plus are equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that provides up to three hours of continuous cleaning.

Controls and compatibility

The robot vacuums and mops are controlled via the Tapo app, which allows users to customize cleaning routines to their own daily routines and set individual vacuuming and mopping modes for individual rooms or zones. The models are compatible with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa, allowing control via voice command.

RV30 Plus and its automatic emptying

A special feature of the RV30 Plus is its docking station with a large dust bin that automatically empties the robot vacuum when docked. This allows the RV30 Plus to operate for up to 70 days without user intervention.

Availability and price

The Tapo RV30 and Tapo RV30 Plus are available now for €399 and from mid-June for €499, respectively, from the official Tapo Store and from Amazon. When ordering from the Tapo Store, customers receive various benefits such as simplified warranty processing, free shipping via DHL Express and free product rotations.
