Xiaomi Mi Note 10: The First Five-Camera Smartphone & 108-Megapixel Sensor

Xiaomi has presented the new Mi Note 10 for Europe. This is the first smartphone with five cameras on the back, one of which even uses a 108-megapixel sensor.

The Cameras in Detail

The 108 megapixel sensor referred to comes from Samsung and bears the name ISOCELL Bright HMX. The Mi Note 10 is the first smartphone to use this sensor. However, you don’t enjoy 108 megapixel images – instead, four pixels are combined into one and you get 27 megapixel images. This not only saves memory, but also captures more light. The f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization do the rest to make good night shots possible.

Two more cameras are responsible for commented photos. A 12-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and dual optical zoom is supported by a 5-megapixel sensor with 10x hybrid zoom, optical image stabilization and 50x digital zoom.

And of course, an ultra-wide angle camera should not be missing these days. It has a resolution of 20 megapixels and a viewing angle of 117 degrees. It is also suitable for macro photography from 1.5 cm.

The fifth camera in the bundle is responsible for macro photos at a distance of 2 to 10 cm.

In addition, there is a dual-tone LED flash on the back that turns night into day. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 offers “Super Night View”.

It also supports slow motion shooting at 960 frames per second.

The Front

The front camera isn’t quite as impressive, but still offers a 32-megapixel sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. It is embedded in a small notch on the top of the display.

The AMOLED display measures 6.47 inches and has a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels (FullHD+). This corresponds to a PPI of 398. Xiaomi also indicates an average brightness of 430 nit, 600 nit is the maximum possible. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The fingerprint sensor is located under the display.

High Performance?

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is equipped with a gaming processor that offers 2x 2.2 GHz and 6x 1.8 GHz. It is the Snapdragon 730G. It is in the upper middle class and should be able to handle current games well.

In addition, the smartphone is equipped with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB memory. A memory expansion is not possible, but dual SIM is supported.

Powerful Battery for Long Gaming

With a 5,260 mAh battery, the battery life should be two days. The battery is huge in any case, so it should fit. And if the battery runs out: the 30-watt charger charges the battery via USB-C to 58% in 30 minutes or to 100% in one hour. Wireless charging is not supported.

Additional Extras

Unlike many other current smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has a 3.5 mm jack connector. In addition, an infrared sensor is integrated to control televisions or other devices.

The smartphone also offers NFC, ac-WLAN, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BDS and LTE.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is to be traded for 549 euros. The Mi Note 10 Pro with 8 RAM, 256 GB memory and an eight instead of seven part lens for the 108 megapixel camera will cost 649 Euro.
