A worthy successor to last year’s hit, the Backforce V, the V Plus aims to strike the perfect balance: In terms of price, it should be similar to its predecessor, but in terms of features, it should be similar to the top-of-the-range One Plus model. Given the impressive success story of the manufacturer from Baden-Württemberg, our expectations are high. After all, Backforce has always impressed us. We could therefore hardly wait to add the V Plus to our series of practical tests to see whether the gaming chair raises the bar in terms of both comfort and performance.

Scope of delivery and assembly
Like its predecessor, Backforce packs the V Plus in a surprisingly small box. Sounds like a small innovation at first, but it has a lot going for it. The compact dimensions allow conventional parcel shipping without the hassle of hiring a forwarding agent for transportation. This allows the manufacturer to ship the gaming chair more cost-effectively. This in turn is reflected in the price of the Backforce V Plus.
In addition to the individual parts of the chair, the package itself naturally contains easy-to-understand assembly instructions with illustrations of the individual steps. The Backforce V Plus is so easy to assemble that no complicated explanations are required. And so that the new owner can get started straight away, all the tools required for assembly are included. Nevertheless, a cordless screwdriver is highly recommended.
In our Backforce V Plus test, this turned out to be absolutely uncomplicated and the gaming chair was set up and ready for use in no time at all. Neither your own tools nor a degree in mechanical engineering or any other engineering subject were required for assembly, which was completed within 15 minutes.
However, we noticed that fitting the cable for the adjustable lumbar support required a little attention. This is understandable, as solid connections are particularly important in this area to ensure mechanical power transmission. We also encountered a small challenge when fitting the headrest, as one screw did not screw in completely flush.
The Backforce V Plus: Stylish, but still solid
One look at the Backforce V Plus and you can immediately see that sporty sophistication meets first-class functionality. The cool honeycomb pattern that winds its way across the seat and backrest gives the chair its unmistakable, somewhat cheeky touch – very much in the style of its predecessor, the Backforce V.
The cover made from recycled PET (Oeko-Tex 100 & GRS certified) is not only great for the planet, but also looks damn good. Someone has really gone the extra mile with the workmanship: Every seam is perfect, no thread is out of line. After our extensive tests, we can confirm that this thing can take a beating.
So, in short: the Backforce V Plus? A real bull’s eye. Stylish, robust and environmentally friendly – if you’re looking for a gaming chair that ticks all these boxes, then the Backforce V Plus is definitely your match.
Compromises? Only on the base
There’s no denying that the Backforce V has a rock-solid build quality. Although we noticed during the test that a compromise had to be made between stability and cost, particularly with the base, the chair is absolutely stable despite the plastic base. The absence of aluminum as a material, as used in the One Plus, for example, allows us to offer a very high-quality product at the lowest possible price.
As with all models in the Backforce gaming chair range, the Backforce V Plus also relies on 65 mm castors, which are characterized by their smooth and quiet gliding properties on various floor coverings. Whether on carpet or hard flooring, the castors offer consistently good performance.

There is no denying that Backforce focuses on ergonomics across the board. This also applies to the armrests, which can be moved in all directions and folded backwards as a 4D model. The V Plus can therefore be used with or without armrests – depending on personal preference. The armrests themselves originate from the development of the One Plus and have already proven themselves in practice on the premium model. The soft upholstery also improves the sitting experience and ensures that no arms fall asleep or elbows fall off, even when working for long periods.
