Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: An unbeatable combination appliance?

In recent years, vacuum cleaners have become increasingly popular. And quite rightly so. With their damp cleaning roller, they even remove dried-on dirt effortlessly. However, these usually bulky appliances also have their disadvantages, which is why they should not be used as the sole cleaning aid in the home. A maneuverable vacuum cleaner is the perfect complement. After all, unlike mop vacuums, it can clean carpets and also ensure cleanliness under flat furniture. In today’s Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test, we take a look at a practical combination appliance that seems to combine this perfect duo perfectly.

Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: The combination concept

Strictly speaking, the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 is made up of two devices. On the one hand, you get a classic vacuum cleaner that speaks the same design language as a Tineco Floor One S7 Pro(test). On the other hand, you get a classic cordless vacuum cleaner, which in turn is reminiscent of devices such as a Tineco Pure One S15 Pro (test).

The highlight of the whole thing is that both devices share a battery or motor. This makes it easy to switch between the mop vacuum cleaner and the cordless vacuum cleaner, which is a real relief when cleaning the house. Ideally, you should vacuum all surfaces first and then use the mop vacuum cleaner to ensure a deep clean.

Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: Design and workmanship

The upright vacuum cleaner is based on the classic three-part design, which is not only familiar from Tineco appliances. Other manufacturers are now also using this design. The household helper has a handle that not only helps you move the vacuum cleaner across your floors. The control buttons are also located here.

The handle is located in the main unit, which houses the fresh and dirty water tanks as well as the motor and battery. On the top of the main unit is a clearly visible color display that shows the most important information on the current status of the Floor One Switch S7. This includes the battery status and cleaning mode.

The manufacturer has placed the cleaning unit at the bottom. The centerpiece is the cleaning roller, which has an almost rimless design – on both sides! If you remove the maintenance cover, you can see a scraper that wringes the dirty water out of the roller. Tineco has opted for a flat scraper rather than a serrated one.

The manufacturer not only scores points for the vacuum cleaner itself, but also for the cordless vacuum cleaner with its outstanding build quality. While the mop vacuum cleaner is dominated by the color black, the cordless vacuum cleaner comes in an elegant combination of white and silver. The dirt container and motor unit are located in the upper section.

You can choose whether you want to use the vacuum cleaner as a handheld vacuum cleaner or as a classic vacuum cleaner using the extension pole. Thanks to the various attachments included by Tineco, you can not only remove dust and other dirt from hard floors, but also from carpets, upholstery, car seats and even narrow corners.

Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: Features and technology

With an RRP of just under 900 euros, you can also expect solid features. And the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 certainly meets these expectations. Let’s start with the most obvious: The display. In the meantime, this has become part of the basic equipment of vacuum cleaners.

This is used to monitor the battery status and cleaning mode. You can also see the results of the iLoop dirt sensor here using the colored border. If it is completely blue, everything is clean. If it is red, however, there is still dirt residue. The SmoothPower system, with the help of which the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 amplifies your movements forwards and backwards with motor support, also ensures ease of use.

In practice, this ensures that the otherwise rather cumbersome appliance can be moved smoothly across the floor. As a cordless vacuum cleaner, the smart household helper does not need this motor support. After all, the combi appliance is extremely lightweight in this form. What both appliances share is a practical LED light at the front.

With its help, even dark corners can be cleaned in the best possible way. Furthermore, the brush design of both the mop vacuum cleaner and the cordless vacuum cleaner must be praised. If you use the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 as a mop vacuum cleaner, you get a rimless design. And on both sides. This ensures that you can clean along a skirting board without leaving an uncleaned strip behind.

The Tineco Floor One Switch S7 also comes with the proven ZeroTangle technology in the form of the cordless vacuum cleaner. The ingenious brush design prevents hair from getting tangled in the brush and subsequently becoming difficult to remove. This is particularly interesting for pet owners.

Last but not least, we should briefly mention the app, which the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 also offers. In my opinion, this is more of a gimmick than a serious feature. In summary, the app offers the option of using a kind of remote control. You can make settings for cleaning or motor support here. I personally wouldn’t need this, but as we all know, having is better than needing.

Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: practical test

The most important question is, of course, how the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 performs in cleaning. I therefore carried out an extensive practical test with the smart household helper. I first took a close look at its capabilities as a mopping vacuum cleaner and then as a cordless vacuum cleaner.

Cleaning performance as a vacuum cleaner

In the test, I subjected the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 to different levels of dirt. I mainly used it in car mode. Here, the vacuum cleaner adjusts the suction power and water flow rate to the dirt in question. Alternatively, there is also a Max mode and a Suction mode. The latter is ideal if you want to vacuum up spilled liquids, for example. My first task was to vacuum up the usual dirt that my dog brought into the living room after his daily walk. Of course, the vacuum cleaner had no problems with this.

After a single wipe over, the dirt was already forgotten. In the next test, I placed a blob of jam, a blob of honey and a blob of nut nougat cream on the floor. The powerful vacuum cleaner had no problems with this either. However, I had to go over the honey and chocolate cream several times to remove all the dirt. Thirdly, I let a ketchup stain dry on the floor and poured cornflakes with a blob of milk next to it.

tineco floor one switch s7 test

While the cornflakes with milk were surprisingly completely removed after one pass, the ketchup stain took a little longer, in line with my expectations. But after five passes, even the dried condiment sauce was no problem for the vacuum cleaner. This is a good result, but it can’t quite match the power of a Dreame H13 Pro(test). While driving through my living room, bathroom and kitchen, I noticed the great maneuverability of the appliance.

The motor assistance definitely pays off in practice. The vacuum cleaner reacts to your movements at lightning speed and makes pulling and pushing the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 much easier. Edge cleaning is also excellent, which can be attributed to the rimless brush design. The only thing that really bothered me was the thick design of the Tineco Floor One Switch S7.

And I’m not talking about the weight, which is concealed by the motor support. Rather, the bulky main unit and the limited flexibility of the head joint are the reason why you cannot clean under flat furniture with the vacuum cleaner. Only the cleaning head fits underneath here. However, this is where the cordless vacuum cleaner comes into play. And that’s what we’ll look at next.

Cleaning performance as a cordless vacuum cleaner

The Tineco Floor One Switch S7 also scored well in the test as a cordless vacuum cleaner. This starts with changing the appliance. You can switch from a mopping vacuum cleaner to a cordless vacuum cleaner by simply changing the motor unit. And it really packs a punch. Thanks to its ultra-light weight, it was very easy to move from A to B in the test.

Dirt was reliably vacuumed up. From simple dust to rice and oatmeal, the cordless vacuum cleaner was able to cope with every challenge. Above all, it is the great maneuverability that ensures outstanding ease of use. You can even dive under flat furniture with the smart household helper to remove dirt with ease.

tineco floor one switch s7 test

In general, the little helper is pleasantly flexible thanks to the associated attachments. In addition to the “classic” setup consisting of a suction unit, suction pipe and main brush, you can also use it to conveniently clean high ceilings with the suction pipe and 2-in-1 brush. This is perfect for removing cobwebs.

Without the suction pipe, you can easily reach into narrow corners with the 2-in-1 attachment and can also clean crevices in your car seats or upholstered furniture. For the seats and cushions of upholstered furniture, there is also a suitable attachment on board in the form of the upholstery brush. Unfortunately, it does not have its own LED lighting.

That’s a bit of a shame, but it’s a major gripe. Otherwise, the cordless vacuum cleaner leaves a really good impression in the test. You never get the feeling that it is strictly speaking “just” an accessory to the vacuum cleaner. It looks like a fully-fledged vacuum cleaner.

Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: Maintenance

The Tineco Floor One Switch S7 has a practical self-cleaning function. To start this, the vacuum cleaner must be in its charging station. All you have to do is press the appropriate button and the smart household helper will rinse its cleaning roller thoroughly on its own. The resulting dirty water ends up in the container.

Once the roller is clean, it is blown dry with hot air at 70°, which is extremely fast. This not only prevents the formation of bacteria. It also prevents the formation of unpleasant odors. After each cleaning or self-cleaning, you should empty the dirty water tank. This is done quickly. Once it has been rinsed with clean water, it is ready for use again.

You should also take a look at the cleaning unit on the underside from time to time. Dirt can collect behind the roller, which you can easily remove. You can use the enclosed cleaning brush to clean it. There is even less to do with the cordless vacuum cleaner. You only need to empty and clean the dirt container. It doesn’t hurt to take a look at the main brush from time to time. You can then simply remove any stuck-on dirt.

Tineco Floor One Switch S7 test: Battery

When it comes to battery life, the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 is a real stunner. This applies both as a mopping vacuum cleaner and as a cordless vacuum cleaner. As a mopping vacuum cleaner, it lasts a maximum of 40 minutes, which is a really strong value in this product category. The battery offers even more endurance when you use it as a cordless vacuum cleaner. Up to 65 minutes are possible here.

Conclusion

If you only have a vacuum cleaner at home, you should buy a separate vacuum cleaner for hard-to-reach areas and carpets. If you only have a vacuum cleaner, however, a vacuum mop is the perfect addition as wet cleaning always ensures maximum hygiene. So why not buy a combination appliance right away? The Tineco Floor One Switch S7 is just that.

And in the test, it proves to be an excellent household helper. A stylish design is combined with great processing quality, state-of-the-art technology and good to very good cleaning performance. Unfortunately, there is one catch: the price. At just under 900 euros, the price is quite steep. However, if you have the necessary change, you get a really powerful household duo that makes housework almost fun.
