Tineco Pure One S15 Pro in test: What the convertible cordless vacuum cleaner can do

The name Tineco means nothing to you? Just a few months ago, it was the same for me. It’s no surprise that the brand has only been around since 2018, but despite its young age, the company has now proven itself to be a true professional in the field of powerful and, above all, user-friendly household appliances. Just recently, we got to take a look at two of the best squeegees on the entire market with the Tineco Floor One S3 (test) and the Tineco Floor One S5 (test). Away from the convincing combination devices, however, the manufacturer also has a pure battery-powered vacuum cleaner in its portfolio with its Tineco Pure One S15. Whereby that is not quite right either. After all, the classic cordless vacuum cleaner can also be conveniently transformed into a handheld vacuum. We want to take a closer look at the promising declaration of war on dust and dirt in our test today.

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro: scope of delivery

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro scope of delivery

The Tineco Pure One S15 comes in three different models. In addition to the Pro model, which we have for review, there is also a Pet and Essentials model. As the name suggests, the manufacturer is most generous with the Pure One S15 Pro in terms of features and scope of delivery. If you open the surprisingly compact packaging of the cordless vacuum cleaner, you will see the following accessories:

  • Pure One S15 main unit
  • Suction tube
  • Floor nozzle
  • Joint nozzle
  • Combination tool
  • Mini power brush/upholstery brush
  • Replacement filter
  • Base station

This one will fit in any living room

Given the pretty design of the Tineco Floor One S5, I honestly had no worries that the manufacturer would be able to pull this off with its smart cordless vacuum. And my expectations were definitely met when I unpacked it. The nice combination of black and white ensures that the battery-powered vacuum cleaner looks pleasantly restrained. This also makes it easy to position in the living room without drawing unnecessary attention to itself.

By the way, unlike Tineco’s two vacuum wipers, the manufacturer relies on a white base for its battery-powered vacuum. This color choice is the only sensible one, because you can’t see any dust or pet hair here. Besides the design, it is also the high build quality with which Tineco convinces us here. The buttons all have a very pleasant pressure point and the attachments can be put on and also taken off as smooth as butter.

A great display

As befits modern vacuum cleaners, the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro also has a display. And what a display it is! The round screen based on LCD technology offers a real splendor. In my opinion, not even the great display of the Jimmy HW10 (test) can keep up here. But of course, the screen is not only chic, but also serves practical purposes.

When you switch it on for the first time, there’s a practical tutorial video on the pretty display

So you get important information about the current status of the vacuum cleaner displayed here. This includes not only the remaining battery capacity or the charging progress. The display also shows the suction level and any error messages. The real highlight, however, are the moving images. Here you can watch small movies that give you tips on how to properly maintain the device, for example. Really cool!

A mount without drill holes

As an owner of a Dyson V10, I know how annoying it is to find the right position for a cordless vacuum cleaner. After all, the classic wall mounts that many manufacturers rely on irrevocably involve drilling. The Tineco Pure One S15 Pro does this differently. Thus, it relies on a docking station located on the floor.

In bright rooms, the base along with the vacuum cleaner almost merges with the wall. So white is definitely a good color choice!

You can easily carry this from A to B when needed. Already, the cordless vacuum cleaner has changed its “home”. As with its wall-mounted counterparts, the floor station also offers the option of recharging the vacuum’s battery. On top of that, you can conveniently store accessories like the attachments here.

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro review: smart operation

As we already know from the test of the two suction wipers, Tineco also relies on a lot of smart bells and whistles with its Pure One S15 Pro. For one thing, there’s the voice function. You can communicate with the battery-powered vacuum cleaner without further ado. In fact, it almost always speaks to you when there are problems. For example, is the battery running out?

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro Touchbuttons
The operation via the touch field works very well.

The Tineco lets you know. Or is the suction tube clogged? You’ll find out from it. Whoever finds this annoying can, of course, turn the whole thing off. However, I found it quite pleasant in the test. Speaking of smart operation, I found it really cool to be able to regulate the Tineco’s suction level. Why? Here you use a slider that is touch-sensitive.

To activate the suction you have to press the power button once. To deactivate it, just press it again. This way you don’t have to keep it pressed all the time.

By simply dragging the bar, you increase or decrease the power. If you need a lot of power quickly, just press the button above the bar. You then switch from automatic to power mode. On top of that, the touch area serves as a tool to navigate through the menus in the settings.

More flexibility is hardly possible

What’s really cool, of course, is that you can conveniently convert the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro from a conventional cordless vacuum to a handheld vacuum. Long tube unplugged, matching attachment on it, done. It could hardly be simpler.

And it is precisely the uncomplicated convertibility that makes the vacuum cleaner a true flexibility monster. There is a suitable option for every area of use.

Thanks to its light weight, the handheld vacuum cleaner is comfortable to use.

You want to free your couch from chip crumbs? Then use it as a hand vacuum and optionally plug the crevice nozzle for the sofa crevices or the multitool. You want to free your ceiling from cobwebs? That is also possible without any problems.

Just put the right attachment on it and you’re ready to go. Thanks to a weight of just 3.1 kg including the suction tube, you don’t have to worry about aching shoulders.

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro Test: Cleaning Performance

Time for the supreme discipline – the cleaning performance. After all, the quality of a vacuum cleaner always stands and falls with its ability to rid your home of dirt and dust. To cut a long story short: The Tineco Pure One S15 Pro delivers a great job in any terrain. It doesn’t matter if it’s wood or stone flooring or carpet – in testing, it did a great job of removing dirt from all three types of floors. It was even able to suck up plenty of dirt from my long-pile carpet in the living room. This is made possible not only by the high suction power, but also by the floor nozzle, which Tineco equips with its own motor.

It is also this that makes the cordless vacuum a real carpet miracle. After all, the attachment’s brush rotates furiously and collects just about any dirt in the carpet thanks to its long hairs. It is not without reason that Tineco specifically advertises its 2-in-1 vacuum cleaner with pets. For example, the floor nozzle features anti-hair-rolling technology, which is supposed to prevent you from having to pick hair out of the brush sooner rather than later. In practice, this seems to work quite well, as I could hardly see any hair balls on the brush. However, individual hairs did get stuck on the brush every now and then.

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro Lighting
The light is especially helpful in dark corners

In total, the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro gives you six suction levels to choose from. That’s quite impressive when I consider that my Dyson offers just three. Switching between the individual suction levels is particularly cool. Due to the sheer number, swiping via the touch bar almost feels like a stepless transition. Of course, you do not always have to manually adjust the suction level, but can also rely on the vacuum cleaner’s expertise. In auto mode, the vacuum cleaner itself decides on the appropriate level.

On carpet, the cordless vacuum automatically increases the power

In the test, I was quite positively surprised by the suction level automatic, which is made possible by the dust sensor called “iLoop”. The cordless vacuum cleaner immediately recognized dirt in front of it and immediately sucked it up. While we’re on the subject of convenient features, we can’t forget about the lighting, of course. This allows you to detect and effectively combat dirt sources even under furniture. Consequently, the cordless vacuum cleaner does a great job in both classic cordless and handheld modes.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t get into all corners

In terms of user comfort, the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro delivers a top performance. Thus, it can be rolled quite smoothly from A to B in your home. This is mainly due to the two large rubberized rollers, which the manufacturer has installed on the standard floor nozzle. The joints that Tineco has given the floor nozzle provide great steering. You can also drive under furniture with a certain clearance above the floor without any problems.

Corners that you can’t get with the main brush can be vacuumed with the crevice nozzle

The light in particular is a great helper here. However, there is one drawback. For example, the cordless vacuum cleaner does not provide a very nice cleaning picture on baseboards. The reason for this is the large edges that the brush has to the side. The concept of the in-house Tineco Floor One S5 should have been used as inspiration. This one has almost no edge to the side.

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro Test: Cleaning

If the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro has eliminated your apartment of garbage, is equally the cleaning of the battery vacuum itself. And this proves to be extremely convenient in the test. There are actually only three components that you should keep an eye on regularly. Firstly, there is of course the dust container. It holds just under 600 ml and thus offers plenty of space. Once the container is full, you can empty it easily. Simply hold it over the garbage can and pull the corresponding lever down. The flap opens immediately.

Furthermore, the cordless vacuum offers not just one, but five different filters. Over time, of course, these also get dirty. After all, they make sure that your room air stays free of unpleasant odors and dust. All you have to do is remove the filters and then tap them out vigorously in the trash can. Regularly rinsing them with water won’t hurt either. However, you have to give them time to dry afterwards, otherwise you risk a moisture-related defect.

Although the floor nozzle offers a special anti-hair feature, annoying debris can accumulate here as well. Since you can easily remove the brush, Tineco makes it easier for you to clean the same. Regular maintenance is important to always maintain the full suction power. Accordingly, it is really commendable that Tineco makes this so uncomplicated with the Pure One S15 Pro.

Lasting battery

Of course, the staying power of the battery also plays a major role in a cordless vacuum cleaner. How quickly the battery of the Tineco Pure One S15 runs out depends on various factors. Besides the suction level you choose, it is also the floor that has an influence on it. Especially when using the standard floor nozzle on long-floor carpets, you feel a significantly faster drop in battery capacity than if you were to vacuum hard floors on a comparably large surface.

Battery status and much more information is available on the display.

In auto mode, the vacuum cleaner lasted about 40 minutes with me. It looked different on suction level six, the maximum. Here it was over after just under ten minutes. These are two very good results, which are on par with flagships in the field of cordless vacuums. Once the battery is empty, it goes to the base station. The Tineco Pure One S15 Pro not only has its home here. It also recharges its battery here. It took a total of three and a half hours until the battery was fully charged again.

It’s easy to remove the battery at the touch of a button

In terms of sustainability and durability, by the way, the cordless vacuum cleaner outshines many competitors. For example, it offers the option of simply unplugging the battery. This has several advantages. For one, you don’t have to worry about the total battery life. Just buy another one and then replace the empty one with the full battery. In addition, this way you can enjoy the cordless vacuum cleaner for many years. After all, a defective battery is still the number one reason for throwing away comparable devices.

Without app? Without Tineco!

That manufacturer Tineco is a big fan of apps already became clear in our tests of the Floor One S3 and Floor One S5. However, we also already asked ourselves with the two suction wipers why this app connection is actually needed? Thus, we were not surprised that the battery-powered vacuum can of course also be used via the Tineco app. In the app, you can make different settings for the vacuum and, on top of that, also check things like the battery level.

Since the app is optional and you don’t have any functional limitations if you don’t use it, I classify it in the nice-to-have category. However, given the expressive display, which even plays moving images and can thus explain all sorts of things, I find the app connection in this case even a bit more nonsensical than with the two suction wipers. Of course, this is a matter of taste and by no means a reason to complain.

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro review: conclusion

I must admit that during the test I have become a real fan the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro. The reason for this is not only the great cleaning performance that the cordless vacuum cleaner delivers. On top of that, it scores with a chic design and a high build quality. The 2-in-1 design also offers a high degree of flexibility and lets you clean not only floors, but also high ceilings, seating furniture and car upholstery.

You can even fit it under furniture that’s close to the floor.

On top of that, the replaceable battery ensures more sustainability and longevity, so you should have many years of enjoyment from the cordless vacuum. The only gripe I have is the large margin that the floor nozzle leaves to the side. This makes cleaning baseboards difficult and leaves an uncleaned edge. All in all, though, the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro is a near-perfect cordless vacuum that the competition has to fear.
