Endorfy Omnis Pudding – Colorful Mecha in Onyx White

Besides the recently tested Thock, Endorfy also offers a second model series: The Omnis keyboards. The variety of models is much smaller than with the Thock, because the Omnis is only available in three versions: A basic model, a Pudding variant with glowing keycaps, and as Omnis Pudding in Onyx White. And it is precisely this particularly unusual variant, which combines the excessive use of RGB lighting with a white color scheme, that is in our test today.

Endorfy relies on a typical gaming package in terms of equipment. The Endorfy Omnis Pudding is sold with mechanical Kailh switches arranged as a 100% layout. In addition, the company promises other features such as an N-key rollover, a removable palm rest and a volume wheel. Whether this package is enough for the keyboard to hold its own on the market, and how it performs in practice for its price of € 86.90 * [review time: €85], we will clarify in the following.

Scope of delivery of the Endorfy Omnis Pudding

  • Detachable cable
  • Key cap remover included

Like the Thock, the Endorfy Omnis Pudding comes in a box with a bright design and colorful imprints. Inside are the keyboard itself, a short manual, the 1.8 m long connection cable, and the removable palm rest. In addition, a keycap remover is also included here, which is located in a compartment on the underside of the keyboard.

Design & Workmanship

  • Lightweight design
  • Stable construction
  • Good workmanship
  • Gating points of keycaps visible

The Endorfy Omnis Pudding relies on the usual standard layout with number pad. The only deviation is at the top right: there, a volume wheel has been embedded into the case as an addition. Endorfy also does without an LED for the scroll function, just like in the Thock. Instead, the third status LED shows the status of the Winlock feature.

Visually, the model we tested is of course particularly striking due to the bright color scheme: White keyboards are comparatively rare on the market. The interaction of the metallic-silver base plate made of metal and the white plastic elements works – in our eyes – excellently. Endorfy is very restrained on the keyboard itself. The surface is completely smooth, only the manufacturer’s logo is printed on the top right.

On the other hand, it gets more exciting on the sides: In both cases, there are transparent stripes through which you can see the illumination of the keys – and the manufacturer’s logo is printed on the left once again. If the included palm rest is used, the overall picture is also complemented by the textured surface. This consists of triangles with differently aligned hatching – which looks nice and provides a good grip.

While the visible parts of the keyboard are kept rather plain overall, the underside has a much more eye-catching design. Endorfy has embedded a wild pattern there. More exciting, however, are the features provided there: The Omnis Pudding has an integrated cable channel, in which you can insert the sleeved cable without any problems. In addition, there are two-stage adjustable feet and a compartment for the keycap remover. Thus, hardly any wishes should remain unfulfilled here.

The Endorfy Omnis Pudding can also largely convince in terms of build quality: The surfaces of the case are clean and sturdy. In addition, the keyboard and the palm rest are quite torsion-resistant. Unfortunately, the same spiral molds are apparently used for the keycaps as in the Thock, so that the sprue points are visible on the side facing away from the user. That’s not bad, but optically not quite perfect.

Software & Configuration

  • Customary feature set
  • Modern UI

The Endorfy Omnis Pudding is configured via the manufacturer’s software, simply called Endorfy Wired Keyboards. This can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. Afterwards, it can be installed quickly and without the need for registration.

After that, the usual settings can be made on the keyboard. Numerous dynamic and reactive effects are offered in the lighting panel – and a static glow is also possible. The latter can be freely assigned with different colors. For the animated effects, on the other hand, you can only select a global color and, depending on the effect, a speed or the direction of movement. However, the effects cannot be applied regionally. You are therefore limited to one preset, but you still have a lot of choice.

The keyboard also offers many options for the key assignment: You can assign new functions to all keys, even though many are of course needed for normal operation. Besides simple reassignments, mouse and multimedia functions as well as macros are also available, among other things.

Overall, Endorfy thus offers a solid overall software package with the Omnis Pudding. The program is largely uncluttered and offers all the features you would expect in this price range.

Practice & Ergonomics

  • Good typing feel
  • Appreciative lighting
  • Comfortable palm rest

On paper, the Endorfy Omnis Pudding offers a lot – and this is also noticeable in practice. The two-stage feet offer good room to maneuver in this regard, and the keyboard is slip-proof in every configuration. We also liked the palm rest, which is long enough for large hands and allows comfortable use even after long periods of use.

The typing feel was also convincing: The installed Kailh Brown switches offer a pleasant pressure point, and the large keys with stabilizers are not particularly noticeable – Endorfy has done everything right here. However, we do not find the implementation of the volume wheel quite ideal: It is basically easy to reach and also offers a good grip with the grooved surface. When pressing it to (de-)activate the sound playback, you can still easily slip off and thus adjust the volume.

We noticed the illumination very positively. The transparent pudding keycaps make them much more colorful. Once again, the illumination is much stronger on the upper side, but that could hardly be implemented otherwise and provides a nice color mixing effect on the side facing the user in practice. The bright, metallic surface also increases the illumination effect even more because the colors are mirrored here. On the other hand, the side stripes are a bit dull since they do not have their own LEDs. However, this would not be expected in the targeted price range – and even so, the elements are a nice addition.

Conclusion on the Endorfy Omnis Pudding

For a price of € 86.90 * [review time: €85], Endorfy offers a mechanical keyboard with the Omnis Pudding that stands out with its bright color scheme and special illumination. These points are well implemented in our eyes: Visually, the device makes quite an impression.

On top of that, other important points are also right, such as the typing feel and the removable palm rest. We also noticed extras like the well-implemented cable channel or the key remover. In addition, the build quality is also appropriate for the price, even if we would have wished for less visible sprue points for the keycaps.

In the end, the Endorf Omnis Pudding is a keyboard that combines many useful options for a reasonable price. The purchase decision will probably be made with the illumination: If you don’t like it, the Omnis Pudding is not the right device. However, if you like it colorful, you get a mechanical keyboard that is well implemented and also has the most important options in the software. If you like it a bit more discreet, you can of course also buy the model in black – this should hardly change anything about the verdicts mentioned here.
