Best Sports Games Coming Out in 2023

Sports fans have never had it as good as they have right now. Not only do they have the opportunity to watch live games in stunning 4K picture quality on their wall-sized televisions, but modern sports have also become an interactive affair. One popular example of this is sports betting, with hundreds of bookmakers launching online and mobile platforms to let fans place wagers from the comfort of their own homes. Not only that but this activity is made even more accessible by the fact that most of these bookies offer free bets to new players, allowing them to get more value.

Of course, sports betting isn’t the only way that modern professional sports have become more interactive. Video games are another route for fans to get more involved in the competitions they love the most.

In more recent years, these games have evolved into incredibly intricate and complex affairs. Thanks to new technologies, developers have added more and more realism to their titles, including accurate physics, life-like visuals, and representative gameplay.

With so much on offer, players will be waiting in anticipation for the latest instalments of these games to drop in 2023. Here are the sports games that are likely to be the best.

EA Sports FC

FIFA 23 was the latest football game released by EA Sports that will bear the name of the sport’s international governing body. From this year, the company has chosen to go it alone, ending a relationship that spanned three decades.

Instead of FIFA 24, this autumn, football fans will be able to buy EA Sports FC. It is a somewhat unoriginal title, but that won’t bother fans, provided Electronic Arts can deliver on some of the promises it has made.

When the move was announced last year, the company said it was doing it so that it could offer more innovative features for players to create a more immersive experience. There are few details as to what this will be yet, but players are excited.

Forza Motorsport

Forza once set the standard for racing simulation games. However, the franchise has lost its way in more recent years, with Forza Motorsport 7 not quite living up to the standards set by other similar titles.

Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios plan to change that this year with the release of a new Forza Motorsport reboot.

Being a reboot, the developers are dropping the number from the game and starting again. So this year’s release will be simply called Forza Motorsport, creating plenty of opportunities for confusion with the original Xbox game.

It promises next-generation graphics, over 500 cars, and the most realistic handling seen in the franchise. Turn 10 is reportedly planning to include five new real-world circuits in the latest game, alongside 15 of the most popular tracks from previous games, each one rebuilt using new techniques with ultra-realistic weather techniques to make them look even more spectacular.

EA Sports PGA Tour

Electronic Arts have been a long-time partner of the PGA Tour, though 2K has been developing games for the golf championship in more recent years. EA will be stepping back up to take a swing in 2023 with EA Sports PGA Tour.

It promises to be one of the most realistic and immersive golfing games ever created. It will include many prestigious courses, including Augusta National, St Andrews, Pebble Beach, and The Country Club. EA has also managed to secure the rights to all four PGA Tour majors.

The courses have been recreated using some cutting-edge technology to allow the developers to accurately depict every feature of every fairway, bunker, and water hazard. Unlike in previous years, where Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy were featured on the cover, EA has taken the decision to focus more on gameplay in its marketing, similar to its move to drop FIFA from its football games. Fans will also be able to compete in LPGA events and against LPGA golfers for the first time, in a major step towards equality.

Fans won’t have to wait long, either. EA Sports PGA Tour is scheduled for release at the end of March.
