QIDI Max3 and QIDI Plus3: New models from the 3D printer professional

3D printers are becoming increasingly popular. A few years ago, they were only to be found in industry and science, but nowadays they are also increasingly being found in private households. One company that has been instrumental in establishing them in the mainstream is QIDI Technology. Founded in 2014, the manufacturer of 3D printers produces 50,000 models a year and accordingly also has extensive experience. With the QIDI Max3 and QIDI Plus3, the company now presents two new models. Let’s take a closer look at them.

QIDI Max3 – industrial quality for home

You don’t want to compromise on your hobby either? Then the QIDI Max3 is the 3D printer of your choice. This high-speed printer scores with maximum print size and is even suitable for use in the industrial sector. The print size of 325 x 325 x 315 mm ensures that you can even create large-format works of art here. A controlled temperature chamber including a drying chamber ensures that fast results are conjured up. Accuracy also plays a major role here. The improved straightness of the surface, for example, is said to ensure that the error deviation is 60% lower. This not only results in very good printing results, but also ensures low maintenance and a long service life.

Even when turned off, the Max 3 makes quite an impression. For example, QIDI gives its high-quality 3D printer an all-metal frame. This is extremely stable due to a reinforcement with metal cross beams on the underside. So you don’t have to be afraid of deformations. Clogging is also not a problem. The new cooling system takes care of that. It also scores with an ultra-fast printing process. Here, 600 mm/s are said to be possible with an acceleration of 20,000 mm/s. The high speed is no coincidence. The revised processor now comes with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. Furthermore, the casing has been perfected for higher speeds.

By the way, compared to its predecessor, QIDI also wants to have implemented a new automatic leveling feature. The other features also read very well. You get a chamber circulation blower with activated carbon air filter. On top of that, the HF pressure plate can be bent and is thus optimally protected against damage. The new software is supposed to provide a high level of operating comfort. Comfort is supposed to be the order of the day right from the unpacking stage. The manufacturer promises fast installation and problem-free commissioning. After all, the printer is completely assembled ex works.

Powerful thermal control

The QIDI Max3 can achieve a maximum extruder temperature of 350°C, a hot bed temperature of 120°C and a chamber temperature of 65°C. Combined with the choice of high-quality materials, this not only ensures great printing results. On top of that, you can be sure that you will enjoy the device for many years. In particular, the two types of hot ends ensure this. While there is hardened steel on one side, you can find a copper alloy on the other. To prevent clogging in the process, QIDI installs a brand new cooling system.

Ahead of the competition in many disciplines

Given the rather large selection of 3D printers on the market, it is not at all easy to decide on the right model. It can be helpful to compare the technical data. And here, the QIDI Max3 is ahead in many respects. This starts with the print size of 325 x 325 x 315 mm, which is clearly superior to many competitors. Even with the print speed of 600 mm/s, only a few models available on the mass market can keep up. Furthermore, the high-quality metal frame ensures pleasing durability. High-performance materials can be processed very well thanks to the effective temperature control.

QIDI Plus3 – Can it be a little smaller?

With a slightly smaller, but still very large print size comes the Plus 3. This one measures 280 x 280 x 270 mm. On top of that, the Plus model offers many of the highlights of the Max version. These include the controlled temperature chamber and the drying chamber.

Furthermore, QIDI also relies on an all-metal frame here, allowing users to achieve ultra-fast printing results. Technical data such as a print speed of 600 mm/s and an acceleration of 20,000 mm/s underscore this.

Price and availability

You can buy both 3D printers now on QIDI’s official website. For the QIDI Max3, you’re currently paying only 1,049.00 euros instead of the MSRP of 1,399.00 euros. The slightly smaller Plus model is significantly cheaper. For the QIDI Plus3 you currently pay only 749.00 euros instead of 1,099.00 euros.
