AOC presents gaming monitor 25G3ZM/BK

AOC has unveiled a new 24.5-inch gaming monitor that is said to score with Full HD resolution, Adaptive Sync and a GTG response time of just one millisecond.

Gaming monitor for professionals

According to AOC’s own information, the new monitor is aimed at both professionals and all those who only play games occasionally, but do not want to compromise on quality. A VA panel is used, which has a resolution of Full HD, ShadowControl and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. In addition, there is a refresh rate of 240 Hz, which is supposed to unleash the potential of high-end graphics cards according to AOC: Displays should not only be razor-sharp, but also run smoothly, which is especially necessary for action-packed games. The response time is also central to this, which AOC particularly focuses on in the 25G3ZM/BK. The MPRT response time is said to be 0.5 milliseconds, while the GTG response time is said to be one millisecond. Together, this promises smoothly changing images, according to AOC. Blurring and ghosting effects are said to be a thing of the past.

Also helpful is the FreeSync support that the monitor offers. FreeSync synchronizes the frame rates of GPU and monitor. This ensures that the available maximum is always utilized in terms of the refresh rate. With its refresh rate, the monitor promises to outshine the recently introduced AOC AG275QX/EU and AG275QXN/EU.

Connections and ergonomics

The device is also equipped with two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.2 ports. AOC also promises the best ergonomics. Thus, the screen can not only be adjusted in height, but also tilted and swiveled, which offers further possibilities to use it according to one’s own wishes and needs. Furthermore, adjustments are possible in terms of the displayed grayscale. AOC relies on the ShadowControl function here, which not only allows the aforementioned adjustment of the grayscale levels, but also the partial brightening of the displayed images. This is a particularly useful function in shooter games. The features in this regard are rounded off by the Low-Input-Lag function. If this is activated, input delays are automatically reduced, which should prevent frayed graphics.

There is also the option of creating six gaming profiles. These profiles make it possible to set presets for different game types. Modes for racing games, real-time strategy games and first-person shooters are already available ex-works.

Price and availability

The new monitor is scheduled to hit the market this month. The recommended retail price is 239 euros.
