Asus ROG Swift PG27UQR and Strix XG32UQ / XG32AQ show off in detail

With the Asus ROG Swift PG27UQR, Strix XG32UQ and Strix XG32AQ, Asus presented three more monitors at gamescom 2022. We’ll tell you what distinguishes them from each other in the overview.

Asus ROG Swift PG27UQR

The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQR is a new edition of the PG27UQ (without the R in the name) and has a lot to offer gamers. This is a 68.58cm (27-inch) 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) HDR gaming monitor with an overclockable refresh rate of 160 Hz. It relies on an IPS display with Quantum Dot technology and features a wide DCI-P3 color space for lifelike colors and especially smooth shading.

It also offers VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification and thus gets up to 600 cd/m² brightness for HDR content, while the typical brightness of 500 cd/m² is also impressive. HDR10 is also included as a standard.

The DCI-P3 color space is covered by 95%, while the color fidelity of DeltaE <2 is also impressive. Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate is used as VRR technology. With ASUS’ exclusive Aura Sync lighting technology, the ROG Swift PG349Q offers atmospheric ambient lighting that can be synchronized with other Aura-enabled components and peripherals.

The ROG Swift PG27UQR offers a variety of connectivity options, including DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, plus two USB 3.0 ports for charging your mobile devices or connecting your keyboard/mouse while gaming, and a 3.5mm jack.

Asus ROG Strix XG32UQ / XG32AQ

In addition, there are the two 32-inch Asus ROG Strix XG32UQ / XG32AQ gaming monitors, which differ primarily in terms of their resolution. The XG32UQ resolves in 4K UHD with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, whereas the XG32AQ resolves in QHD. The 4K model was already officially unveiled at the end of July 2022.

Both monitors rely on a Fast IPS panel with a 1 ms (gray to gray) response time, offer Variable Refresh Rate and DisplayHDR 600 certification with a peak brightness of 600 cd/m², as well as a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.

The XG32AQ also features a refresh rate of up to 175 Hz (in overclocked mode), while the XG32UQ reaches 160 Hz when overclocked. Both monitors cover the DCI-P3 fab space by more than 95 percent. Another advantage of the Asus ROG Strix XG32UQ: It is able to display games on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in 4K resolution at 120 Hz thanks to HDMI 2.1.

Prices and availability

Unfortunately, it is still unclear when the Asus ROG Strix XG32UQ / XG32AQ gaming monitors will be available. At least the website of the XG32UQ provides more details. Unfortunately, no further details are available for the Asus ROG Swift PG27UQR.
