B250i: Small LED Projector from Acer presented at CES 2020

At CES 2020, Acer is introducing the new B250i portable LED projector, designed specifically for mobile use. The projector combines Full HD projection and autofocus, and of course it also has 5 watt speakers for the necessary sound. How good these are can probably only be determined in practical tests. From the manufacturer, an “excellent audio quality” is achieved, which seems hardly possible with a projector.

Thanks to the ultra-light case, the B250i is also well portable and is also quite handy with its small dimensions of just 200 x 200 x 88 millimeters and 1,450 kilograms. Acer promotes the B250i especially for users who want to throw large-format, high-quality content on the wall quickly and easily, regardless of location.

Full HD projection and long life

The Acer B250i supports high-quality Full HD projection with 1080p resolution with autofocus, so it can project high-quality images onto the wall at the touch of a button. It offers up to 1,000 ANSI lumens1 brightness at a contrast ratio of 5,000:1 and supports a wide colour gamut of 120 percent of the Rec. 709 colour space.

The LED module is specified by the manufacturer with a lifetime of up to 30,000 hours. This actually makes it unnecessary to replace burnt-out lamps, which not only reduces costs but also protects the environment.

The B250i offers various connection options, either with or without cable. Wireless screen mirroring is available for both Android and iOS users via Wi-Fi. A Wi-Fi adapter is already included. A desktop PC or notebook can be connected directly via the standard HDMI port. USB Type C (display and charging) and Type A ports are also available. So there should be the right port for everyone.

The B250i is described by Acer with an especially simple setup. It should be immediately ready for use without the need for additional software for screen mirroring or direct multimedia playback.

Prices and availability

The Acer B250i will be available from Q2 2020 at a retail price of 699 euro.
