Canon has introduced the PowerShot V10, a new vlogging camera that is tailored to the needs of those who want to produce high-quality video recordings on the go. The device is designed as an all-in-one solution.
All-in-one solution for vlogging
The PowerShot V10 offers 4K resolution and is equipped with everything needed for vlogging. For example, it has integrated stand and a high-quality stereo microphone. A touch display is also available. It is also equipped with two microphones for stereo recording, a third microphone for noise reduction, an integrated wind filter and a windscreen. Together with the low weight of just 211 grams, it is thus ideally suited to the needs of anyone who wants to make high-quality recordings while traveling or outdoors, but doesn’t want to take expensive equipment with them. Especially in the vlogging sector, this is regularly the case.
The housing of the PowerShot V10 is vertically aligned and robustly designed. This should help the camera to be operated with one hand when on the go and to withstand the demands of everyday outdoor use. The large record button also contributes to the fact that the camera can be operated on the go without any effort.
Overall, Canon is clearly breaking away from its traditional design with the new camera. The EOS R50, the company’s last dedicated vlogging camera, still held on to this.
High video quality
However, Canon does not want to forgo the usual quality in all of this. Among other things, 14 color filter effects, a smooth-skin mode and the Movie Digital IS mode ensure high-quality video recordings. If the latter mode is active, camera shake is reduced and a clearer picture is created. This is supposed to be able to create cinema-quality recordings. However, the video length is limited to one hour. The camera is also equipped with an auto level function, which ensures a straight horizon and thus makes some post-processing unnecessary. Of course, not only videos but also photos can be taken with the new Canon camera. Core features still include a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 6.6 millimeters and an f/2.8 aperture, a 1-inch CMOS sensor, and autofocus with face detection and tracking.
Connectivity of the PowerShot V10
.
Rounding out the PowerShot V10’s features is the ability to transfer shots to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi using Canon’s Camera Connect app. In addition, there is the option to automatically transfer content temporarily to the image.canon cloud. This allows them to be accessed from any device. HDMI and USB interfaces are also available on the camera. The camera can be charged via the USB-C port.
Another interesting feature for vloggers is the possibility to start a live stream on Facebook or YouTube with the PowerSHot V10 via the Camera Connect app. The filmed content is output by the camera without delay.
