Coboc, an established manufacturer of e-bikes, has recently launched a new product line. The Light SUV e-bikes are characterized by their light weight and high performance and are equipped with motors from Bosch. This new line marks a significant development in the company’s history, as Coboc previously relied on its own motors. However, the Light SUVs are the first to use an external motor, specifically a Bosch Performance Line SX motor.
Technical specifications and equipment
The Light SUV e-bikes are the first Coboc e-bikes to feature a mid-motor, which allows for a more direct response to the rider. The Bosch motor offers a maximum torque of 55 Nm. Although the new line won’t be available until mid-2024, some specifications have already been announced but could be subject to change.
The e-bikes can also be considered trekking bikes, as they are equipped with mudguards and a rear rack. A suspension fork and MTB tires ensure a safe ride on all surfaces. The weight of the e-bikes is specified by the manufacturer at 17.9 kilograms.
Battery and design
The battery of the e-bikes is integrated into the frame, but this does not preclude it from being removable. A range extender is available, which should increase the battery capacity by 250 Wh. The standard battery has a capacity of 400 Wh. In terms of design, Coboc has placed particular emphasis on a slim design.
Everyday usability and availability
The e-bikes are equipped with a lighting system, which makes them suitable for everyday use and night riding. The manufacturer has not yet commented on a price or exact availability. It remains to be seen how Coboc’s new product line will be received on the market and whether it can meet the expectations of e-bike enthusiasts.
