Crucial T700: PCIe Gen 5 SSD with up to 12,400 MB/s

With the Crucial T700, the manufacturer now launches a new, blazingly fast PCIe Gen 5 SSD. It promises sequential read and write speeds of up to 12,400 MB/s and 11,800 MB/s, respectively.

With speeds of 12,400 MB/s sequential read and 11,800 MB/s sequential write, the Crucial T700 nearly doubles the speed of PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

The new SSD is offered with capacities of 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB and is in stores now. It has a Mircon 232 layer TLC NAND and is backwards compatible with Gen3 and Gen4 systems. The controller used is the Phison E26, which showed its final form at CES 2023. The NVMe 2.0 protocol is of course also supported.

According to the manufacturer, the lifespan of the Crucial T700 is 600 TBW for the 1 TB model, 1,200 TBW for the 2 TB variant and 2,400 TBW for the largest version of the SSD. The T7 is also optionally offered with or without a cooler, here the manufacturer relies on an aluminum and nickel-plated copper heat sink.

Price and availability

The PCIe 5.0 SSD Crucial T700 is available now directly from the manufacturer, as well as in stores. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price starts at 201.10 Euros for the version with 1 terabyte of storage space without a heatsink, but some retailers already list the SSD for 194.90 Euros.
