Dell unveils new peripherals: New monitor, docks, soundbar and speakerphone

In addition to the new Latitude and Precision notebooks, Dell presented a variety of peripherals in today’s livestream. Among them, for example, the Dell Slim Conferencing Soundbar, a Speakerphone and the UltraSharp 30, 32 and 27 monitors. We have summarized all the information for you.

Dell Universal Dock UD22, Thunderbolt Dock and Dual Charge Dock

Dell has introduced a total of three different docking solutions for various application areas. The Dell Universal Dock UD22, which is connected to notebooks via USB Type-C, is the first one. Up to four 4K displays can be connected simultaneously, while four USB-A and two USB-C ports are also available. At the same time, laptops connected to the docking station can be charged quickly with a maximum of 96 watts.

Even more options are offered in the Dell Thunderbolt 4 Dock WD22TB4, which connects to the notebook via USB-C with Thunderbolt 4. This is the world’s first modular Thunderbolt 4 docking station because the main module with ports can be easily replaced.

Thanks to VESA mount, the docking station can be easily mounted behind the monitor or under the desk. The main module accommodates two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, while the large, interchangeable module offers a maximum of the following ports:

  • 2x DisplayPort 1.4 (maximum resolution 5K with 60 Hz or 8K with 60 Hz)
  • 1x HDMI 2.0
  • 1x USB-C multifunction DisplayPort connector
  • 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
  • 1x Gigabit Ethernet RJ 45
  • 1x Power In
  • 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2
  • 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 with PowerShare

Rounding out Dell’s docking solutions is the HD22Q Dual Charge Dock, which combines a laptop docking station with a QI-enabled charging stand that wirelessly charges smartphones or Earbuds. Up to 90 watts of PowerDelivery for notebooks and 12 watts of QI-standard wireless charging are offered.

In addition, connected USB devices can be charged from one of four USB-A (up to a maximum of 4.5W) or one USB-C port (maximum 15W). An Ethernet port, a DisplayPort 1.4 and an HDMI 2.1 port with support for a 4K HDR monitor with a maximum of 144 Hz round out the selection of ports.

Dell Peripherals: Speakerphone SP3022

Designed specifically for online conferencing, the new Dell Speakerphone SP3022 comes along, focusing on a sleek, uncluttered design. It’s designed specifically for Microsoft Teams and features a dedicated button for Microsoft’s conferencing tool, giving quick access to meetings or notifications. An LED light also informs you about the status of the app, as well as whether your own microphone is muted.

The compact speakerphone measures 226 mm x 71 mm x 58.3 mm (length x width x depth) and weighs just 327 grams. Thus, it fits comfortably on a desk or underneath the monitor. It can be connected directly to monitors, desktop PCs or notebooks via USB-A or USB-C.

Sound-wise, the SP3022 relies on an omnidirectional microphone that covers a frequency range of 120 Hz to 7 kHz. Thanks to AI Noise Cancellation, background noise is supposed to be effectively suppressed. Thanks to Duplex Audio, the voices of different people in the room are picked up differentiatedly and reproduced clearly.

Stereo drivers with 1.6 watts of power are used for playback, which cover a frequency band of 90 Hz to 20,000 Hz in the dedicated music mode and are thus supposed to provide a clear, rich sound. Alternatively, there’s the Dell Slim Conferencing Soundbar SB522A to choose from, which can be docked directly to monitors from the manufacturer and is certified with smart features for Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Dell UltraSharp 30, UltraSharp 32 and UltraSharp 27 4K

A total of three new monitors round out Dell’s new peripheral lineup. The Dell UltraSharp 30 USB-C hub monitor kicks things off, relying on a 30-inch 16:10 panel and maximum WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) resolution. The IPS panel offers LED backlighting with a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m².

However, with a response time of 8 ms (gray-to-grey) and 5 ms with Boost, the display is more aimed at office users. The aforementioned soundbar can be conveniently docked to the bottom of the monitor, while a variety of ports are offered. Among them HDMI, DisplayPort in and out, USB-C, 3.5 mm jack, USB-C upstream, three times USB 3.2 Gen 2, RJ 45 and much more.

Dell UltraSharp 30

He’s joined by the two Dell UltraSharp 32 (32-inch) and UltraSharp 27 (27-inch) monitors, both of which resolve in Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) and offer a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. They rely on a 16:9 panel and otherwise come with the same specifications and connections as the UltraSharp 30.
