Fisker Pear: compact e-car with 5 seats announced

The US car manufacturer Fisker wants to prove with its “Pear” that an electric car with lots of space doesn’t have to cost a lot. The e-car with room for five people is to be launched for less than 30,000 US dollars.

Reservations available now

The purchase of an electric car often fails for many despite government subsidies because of the high purchase price. This is not to be the case with the Fisker Pear. Anyone interested in the compact-class e-car can reserve one of the models now. A fee of 250 US dollars is charged. The manufacturer Fisker is thus taking a rather untypical approach.

Thus, it already names the price and opens up the possibility of reservations, although we haven’t even seen tangible pictures of the vehicle yet. It gets even better. As we reported recently, Fisker is just about to launch its Ocean series. Really amazing that they are already talking about upcoming vehicles at this point.

A car for the masses?

Not only the attractive price, but also the other rather scarce information makes the Fisker Pear quite interesting. For one thing, there’s the compact design with room for up to five people. On top of that, the company obviously wants to give its vehicle the “made in the USA” stamp. The e-vehicle is to be built for the masses in Ohio. Last but not least, the targeted number of units indicates that the company has a lot of plans. Thus, about 250,000 models of the Fisker Pear are to roll off the assembly line in the year.

Price and availability

The manufacturer has certainly aroused interest among many potential customers. Accordingly, Fisker will most certainly be hit with a large wave of reservations. But we hope that the company will also get around to revealing a bit more information for once.

After all, with the rudimentary drawings circulating, we can only guess how the result will roll down the streets one day. But Fisker admittedly also has some time to release more details. The electric car is not scheduled to be launched until 2024. The Fisker Pear will then cost 29,900 US dollars.
