HYTE keeb SR65 Limited: Modern 65% keyboard launched

HYTE has unveiled the HYTE keeb SR65, its first mechanical keyboard specifically designed to meet the needs of gamers looking to enter the enthusiast keyboard segment. The unique 65-percent keyboard will be available for pre-sale in a limited edition of 1,000 units.

The special features of HYTE keeb SR65 Limited

The manufacturer makes it unmistakably clear from the very first glance at the design that the HYTE keeb SR65 Limited is not just another keyboard in the 65-percent form factor. It features a 5-pin hot-swappable PCB for future keyboard modifications and extended switch compatibility. The case is made of frosted polycarbonate and a bead-blasted silver aluminum top case.

The keeb comes with Durock V2 Gold Wire stabilizers and three different Durock switch options. Linear ‘Pink’ (65g bottom out), Linear ‘Yellow’ (55g bottom out) and Tactile ‘Teal’ T1 (67g bottom out). On the other hand, those who prefer to use their own switches, keycaps and stabilizers will also be served with a barebones version of the keeb SR65.

To further enhance the user experience, keeb comes standard with an all-new floating seal mount for improved typing feel and noise. The matte black, laser-engraved translucent ABS keycaps and select switches are packaged in separate trays along with keeb.

Lighting with 138 RGB LEDs

The HYTE nexus software also lets you separately program each key, the dedicated multimedia keys, and the two dials that control the preset lighting modes and volume by default.

With 138 RGB LEDs illuminating each key and the entire keeb SR65 environment, impressive effects can be achieved that are diffused through the frosted polycarbonate base and projected onto the desktop surface.

With the help of AI-driven software, the keyboard can be synchronized with monitors, background animations and music. HYTE nexus has been factory trained with over 1,000 songs and is being further developed with more music genres to optimize RGB lighting results and best display the music being played.

Price and Availability

The HYTE keeb SR65 will be released in the US and Canada as early as January 14, 2022, starting at a price of $350, while the full-featured keyboard will be priced at around $400. The manufacturer could not yet name a concrete release and price for Europe; the details will be provided later.
