Ikea Bettorp: Compact LED light with dual Qi charging pad available

After Ikea recently gave the Symfonisk speaker a shelf with wireless charging station, the next charging option for your own bedroom is now waiting for you. This goes by the name of Ikea Bettorp and comes in the form of a compact, mobile LED lamp.

The Ikea Bettorp combines two products in one. On the one hand, it is a compact and quite chic LED lamp, and on the other hand, a wireless Qi charging pad. The lamp itself comes in a gray-blue color and can also be used wirelessly with four AA batteries. Unfortunately, the corresponding battery cells are not included in the delivery.

You can use AA batteries with 2450 mAh or AA 1900 mAh battery cells and position the robust LED light anywhere in your own four walls. The base station of the Bettorp presents itself as a Qi-enabled charging pad with two charging surfaces.

The charging speed is limited to a maximum of 5 watts, but the design is very practical. Especially since you supply the batteries of the LED light itself with energy as soon as you position it on the designated place at the edge of the charging pad.

Dimmable bedside lamp

The Ikea Bettorp is basically intended as a bedside lamp, but it can be used anywhere in your home. The LED bulb is thereby firmly integrated and emits a warm white light with 2,700 Kelvin. According to the Swedish furniture store, the bulb should have a service life of around 25,000 hours, which corresponds to a service life of almost 25 years with a daily use of three hours.

Thanks to foot made of synthetic rubber, the portrait of charging pad and lamp stands safely even on slippery surfaces. The base is made of ABS plastic, which should make the pair quite light.

Qi-enabled devices are simply placed on one of the two plus signs to charge and are automatically charged. A status LED provides information about the active charging process and goes out when charging is complete.

The LED light itself is supposed to last up to six hours at full brightness, depending on the battery used. You can also dim the light with the built-in switch. There are three lighting modes to choose from here: bright, medium and ambient.

Price and Availability

You can now secure the Ikea Bettorp LED light in Ikea’s online shop or in its stores. The light, which is only 23 cm high, has a recommended retail price of 59.99 euros.
