Lawna: Smart robotic mower with Visual AI launches on Kickstarter
The Lawna is a smart mowing robot that has been launched on Kickstarter and has already exceeded its funding target within a few days. It works autonomously and automatically creates boundary lines, divides up work areas and creates optimized mowing plans thanks to Visual Ai. For example, it competes with Gardena’s intelligent robotic mowers.
Lawna Smart Cyber Mower with Visual AI
The targeted goal of $100,000 has now already been surpassed by the Lawna Smart Cyber Mower robotic mower with Visual AI, which stands at over $319,000 contributed by 388 backers. There are still 26 days left in the campaign.
What sets the Lawna apart from other robotic mowers is its Visual AI feature, which allows it to draw virtual boundary lines on its own, divide different work areas or create the optimal work schedule. No cables need to be laid for the robot to get down to business.
Even the height at which it is to mow does not have to be set manually. All options can be conveniently made via the smartphone app, the manufacturer promises. Thanks to its AI Vision, the Lawna precisely measures the size of your garden and its shape in just one pass.
Intelligent Planning
After measuring, the Lawna divides the garden into different zones and intelligently creates the optimal work schedule for how to mow them. This includes zones, a schedule and the necessary mowing mode.
The zones are divided into different categories, while the robotic mower measures the most efficient route for each one. In doing so, it can even cope with slopes of 30 degrees without any problems. In addition, it is waterproof and automatically detects when it is time for a break with the help of a rain sensor. It then automatically returns to the charging station.
If the battery level is below 20 percent, the Lawna automatically returns to the charging station and then returns to its work, fully charged. And it does so exactly where it left off. It also intelligently detects obstacles in its path and has various sensors that provide additional safety. For example, when objects, people or animals move into the field of vision.
Then the Lawna stops working and retracts its cutting blades to minimize the safety risk. It also offers real-time GPS tracking and multiple mechanisms for theft protection.
Price and Availability
The Lawna Smart Cyber Mower can be backed starting at $699 in the Super Early Bird Deal at Kickstarter, the MSRP is actually $1,598. Delivery is then scheduled for January 2023.
