Lenovo unveils new ThinkBook laptops, new desktop sub-brand and accessories

High-quality materials, sophisticated and sustainable design, and innovative features distinguish the new ThinkBook laptops, desktop sub-brand and accessories that Lenovo has now unveiled. The exciting new ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 features a 17.3-inch main display with an ultra-wide 21:10 aspect ratio and an innovative 8-inch secondary screen that enables multitasking.

ThinkBook Plus Gen 3: dual-screen productivity

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is the industry’s first 17.3-inch notebook with an integrated, full-color 8-inch LCD display. This enables multitasking without the need for a second display.

The ultra-wide 21:10 aspect ratio main display already provides more space to take advantage of Windows 11 snap layouts, but adding a second touch-sensitive display with integrated digital pen opens up new productive scenarios.

Additional programs can be displayed on the second screen, freeing up the main screen for document creation. In addition, a chat window can be displayed on the second screen during conferences or the notepad function can be used to create notes during online meetings.

The second screen can also be used as a drawing board for editing or refining images. The integrated Digital Pen with ColorKing Plus allows for faster and more accurate color selection.

There is also a “waterfall” feature, which is said to be especially useful when editing documents. The source pages from the main screen can be easily transferred to the second screen.

A “Magic Launcher” can place frequently used application icons on the second display for quick access, if desired. The calculator function is also practical for spreadsheets. The screen can even be configured to automatically open the calculator when a spreadsheet is started, for example.

The hardware

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is equipped with 12th-generation Intel Core H-Series processors, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 and up to 2 TB of SSD storage. The 17.3-inch main display in 21:10 ultra-wide format comes with a resolution of 3072×1440 at 120 Hz, up to 400 nits brightness and 90% screen-to-body (STB) ratio with Dolby Vision support and Low Blue Light with TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe certification.

The 8-inch Second LCD touch glass display offers 800 x 1280 pixel resolution and features an integrated digital pen with ColorKing Plus and Pantone digital libraries.

New generation ThinkCentre neo

The new ThinkCentre neo offer a sleek and minimalist design for a contemporary look with a new terrazzo color and material finish. Connectivity options and smarter online meeting experiences enable smooth collaboration, while ThinkShield compliance enhances security. By using plastic from the ocean for packaging and an eco-friendly design with recycled content and paint-free raw materials, the line also ensures sustainability.

Lenovo announced three new models in the neo line, all of which feature 12th-generation Intel Core processors: ThinkCentre neo 70t, ThinkCentre 50s and ThinkCentre neo 30a 24.

ThinkCentre neo 70t

The ThinkCentre neo 70t is a tower model designed to meet the needs of high-performance content creators, developers and anyone working with complex workloads.

It features up to 128GB of DDR5 memory, NVIDIA graphics up to RTX 3060 Ti with the benefits of the NVIDIA Studio platform, and 2TB HDD / 1TB SSD storage for running multiple tasks without interruption. Collaboration is easier than ever with the Smart Cable that connects two computers and operates them simultaneously on one screen.

ThinkCentre neo 50s

The ThinkCentre neo 50s is a small form factor desktop that delivers performance and space savings in a 7.4-liter design. EPEAT Gold certification for energy efficiency and Intelligent Cooling Engines 5.0 keep the desktop running at optimal power consumption. TUV-certified Ultra-Low-Noise (ULN) and packaging made from ocean-derived plastic and paint-free raw materials promise quiet performance and environmental friendliness.

ThinkCentre neo 30a 24

The ThinkCentre neo 30a 24 is an all-in-one (AIO) desktop with a 23.8-inch FHD 16:9 wide viewing angle (WVA) display, audio from Harman and a retractable webcam.

It features AI Meeting Manager, which offers a real-time translator, voice-to-text, subtitles, a meeting notes editor, and Amazon Alexa Voice Interaction for future-ready collaboration. Lenovo Smart Appearance improves facial recognition and blurs backgrounds.

ThinkBook 13x Gen 2: Ultra-thin premium notebook

Co-developed with Intel, the ThinkBook 13x Gen 2 is a 12.9mm thin and 1.21kg lightweight premium aluminum notebook based on the Intel Evo platform and powered by the latest 12th generation Intel Core U-Series processors.

Designed for highly mobile professionals, the 13x Gen 2 features a bright, EyeSafe-certified 13.3-inch 16:10 aspect ratio display with a high STB (screen-to-body) ratio of more than 91 percent, an edge-to-edge keyboard and an optional touch feature. A large 56-Wh battery and ambient light sensors to control display power efficiency ensure there are no power issues.

The unique ThinkBook Wireless Multi-Device Charging Mat is available as an option and enables wireless charging of notebooks at 65W via Power by Contact. The integrated Qi charger can also charge compatible mobile devices at up to 10 watts.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14 and 16 Gen 4+

The ThinkBook 14 and 16 Gen 4+ i notebooks offer highly flexible configuration options, from mainstream productivity needs to high-performance models. All models have a slimmer design than the previous generation and feature a 16:10 aspect ratio with a larger display area.

Display options include a 14-inch 90Hz (2880 x 1800 pixels) panel and a 16-inch 120Hz (2560 x 1600 pixels) panel with hardware color calibration, both of which can be powered by optional NVIDIA RTX graphics cards. A larger touchpad with glass surface provides an interactive experience, and the Dolby Atmos Speaker System delivers an immersive audio experience for calls and entertainment.

An ambient light sensor controls the display’s energy efficiency and automatically adjusts brightness based on lighting conditions. The Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor works with the FHD infrared webcam to detect the user’s presence. This allows for touchless login via Windows Hello, locking when the user leaves the device, and even automatic adjustment of the screen brightness and keyboard backlight.

Backpack and Mice

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 Sling Backpack is a rugged and stylish backpack made of weather-resistant materials. It features a comfortable, padded and adjustable shoulder strap for added comfort and offers zippered pockets and hidden compartments for storing valuables.

The ThinkBook Rechargeable Mobile Mouse and ThinkBook Rechargeable Performance Mouse offer a high-quality and consistent design with dual-host Bluetooth connections that allow pairing with two different devices, USB-C charging, and adjustable DPI up to 2400.

Easy Install: installation service for businesses

Easy Install is a deployment service designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses, where Lenovo performs installation of new technologies remotely or on-site. Businesses can use Lenovo’s service to be sure their employees’ hardware, accessories and software have been properly installed, configured, tuned and tested.

Easy Install is expected to be rolled out globally in phases beginning in February 2022. Local pricing will be announced at a later date.

Pricing and Availability

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is expected to be available in stores in September 2022. MSRP will start from 1,049 euros. The ThinkBook 13x Gen 2 will be available in June 2022, with a starting price of 1,099 euros. The ThinkBook Wireless Multi-device Charging Mat will also launch at the same time, at a starting price of 199 Euros.

The ThinkBook 16 Gen 4+ i will also be released in September 2022 at a starting price of 759 euros, while the ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ i is not planned for the European market for now.

Among the neo devices, the ThinkCentre neo 50s kicks off in March 2022, starting at 399 Euros. The ThinkCentre neo 30a 24 follows in May 2022 starting at 499 Euros, while the ThinkCentre neo 70t should be available from June 2022 starting at 699 Euros. The two mice ThinkBook Wireless Mobile Mouse and ThinkBook Wireless Performance Mous are to be available from June 2022 at a price of 39.99 Euros each.
