MSI VIGOR GK71 SONIC: Gaming keyboard for professionals with pudding keycaps

MSI is expanding its Vigor series of gaming keyboards. After the low-profile GK50 LP TKL (our review) model, they are now launching the new flagship mechanical keyboard for professional gamers, which goes by the name MSI VIGOR GK71 SONIC. The keyboard with pudding keycaps is said to offer unrivaled responsiveness thanks to MSI Sonic Red technology.

The new MSI VIGOR GK71 SONIC gaming keyboard positions itself as the top-of-the-line mechanical model within the range and has been designed specifically for competitive gamers. Together with Kailh, the keyboard has been equipped with the lightest switches in the world, which respond almost instantly even with a light keystroke, he said.

The 35gf actuation force of the linear red switches along with MSI Sonic Red technology is said to provide added comfort and prevent rapid finger fatigue. The intelligent dual-touch volume control and integrated media controls can be used to control multimedia content.

Elegant and robust design

At the same time, the keyboard is equipped with MSI ClearCaps, under whose transparent appearance the RGB lighting is shown off particularly well. The included ergonomic wrist rest made of memory foam improves the ergonomics even more and can be placed freely.

The frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminum and therefore turns out to be particularly robust and durable. At the same time, the MSI VIGOR GK71 SONIC relies on a compact design that gives you more space on the desk.

The underside is equipped with an X-shaped cable guide, which even extends over the palm rest. Up to three profiles can be stored in the keyboard’s onboard memory and customized with macros, RGB effects and more. Thanks to MSI Mystic Light, you can make the GK71 SONIC shine in 16 million colors and with various effects.

For the highest precision, you can switch between 6-key and N-key rollover. Connecting via USB 2.0, the 442.5 x 138 x 41 mm keyboard weighs 854 grams, and the keys are rated for more than 70 million clicks.
