PowerA FUSION Pro 3: Wired pro controller for Xbox Series X/S available

With the FUSION Pro 2, manufacturer PowerA released a strong and cheaper alternative to the Elite controller for Microsoft consoles as early as 2021, as we were able to ascertain in our review. Now they have presented the successor, the PowerA FUSION Pro 3, which wants to convince on Xbox consoles and PC.

The new PowerA FUSION Pro 3 professional controller is compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One consoles and the PC and relies on the layout of Xbox gamepads. However, the controller does without a wireless connection option and can only be connected – latency-free – together with the cable.

The improvements compared to the 2nd generation include four freely configurable action buttons on the back, which replace the detachable Pro Pack and can be assigned with different buttons. And that even during an ongoing game.

Three-stage trigger locks also allow you to shorten the release distance of the two triggers and thus achieve the feeling of a mouse click in shooters, for example, which is not possible with normal controllers.

The analog sticks of the PowerA FUSION Pro 3 are interchangeable. There’s a choice of long and short sticks, with either a convex or concave design – whichever you prefer. Rubberized, textured grip earpieces are meant to provide a secure grip in heated battles.

All accessories, including the controller, can be carried anywhere in the included carrying case, which is smaller than its predecessor’s and takes up less space when traveling.

The FUSION Pro 3 also has a volume control and a microphone mute button with LED indicator. Headsets can of course be attached and used directly on the gamepad via a 3.5 mm jack.

Price and Availability

The PowerA FUSION Pro 3 pro controller is already available in the US. There, the MSRP is around $80. Amazon already lists the gamepad in this country, but so far without a date. Also at MediaMarkt the controller can be found, without a date. The price here is 114.95 Euros.
