PVY Z20 Plus: E-bike for off-road use

With the Z20 Plus series, PVY has introduced two new e-bikes that are optimized for off-road use. With powerful motors, particularly good suspension and powerful brakes, they are suitable for off-road use – and thus fill a previously rather weakly occupied niche in the e-bike sector. We present the two new models!

PVY Z20 Plus 500

The PVY Z20 Plus 500 is equipped with a 250-watt motor, which reaches an output of 500 watts when throttled. In the throttled version, the achievable top speed is 25 km/h. When unthrottled, the e-bike reaches 39 km/h – which makes it an S-pedelec and thus a moped. The torque achieved is 60 Nm. The powerful motor is housed in a thick aluminum frame. The design already underlines the off-road claim: The bike looks robust and – if the khaki color is chosen – even well camouflaged.

Another interesting feature is the option of folding the bike. While it measures 1790 x 620 x 1290 mm when unfolded, the size is reduced to 960 x 380 x 740 mm when folded. This makes it easy to transport to the site of operation in the car or on the train. Meanwhile, the tires of the PVY Z20 Plus are anything but compact. With dimensions of 20 x 4 inches, they are deliberately kept wide and seem almost monstrous. This is not only intended as a design statement, but also practical for off-road use. Here, for example, they help to master inclines or never lose grip on uneven ground.

In addition, the smaller version of the Z20 Plus is equipped with a rear mechanical shock absorber, a lockable suspension fork and a mechanical disc brake. In addition, there is a strong battery with a capacity of 14.5 mAh, which enables a range of up to 100 kilometers. Furthermore, the Z20 Plus 500 has a display that can be used to show essential information about the bike. The display is waterproof and thus also ideally suited for use in more extreme environments.

PVY Z20 Plus 1000

In addition to the presented model, PVY has also presented a more powerful variant: the Z20 Plus 1000. This new top model of the manufacturer is visually similar to the already described e-bike. There are also no differences in terms of size or tire equipment. Motor, brakes and co – in short: the technology – looks a bit different here, however. The motor has a throttled output of 250 watts, but manages a powerful 1,000 watts unthrottled, which means a top speed of 50 km/h. This exceeds the legal speed limit. This means that it exceeds the legally permissible maximum for S-pedelecs. The torque is also significantly higher than that of the 500cc version: the Z20 Plus 1000 has a torque of 100 Nm to offer. In addition, there is a hydraulic brake and a 16.5 mAh battery, which allows a range of up to 120 kilometers.

The rear mechanical shock absorber and waterproof color display already present on the 500 model are also found on the 1000 version of the Z20 Plus. The Z20 Plus 1000 is also foldable. It thus represents a more powerful variant overall and is aimed at passionate off-road fans who want to maximize performance.

Both models weigh in at 29 kilograms including the battery and are designed for a total weight of up to 150 kilograms.
