ROCCAT Kone Air: Wireless all-round mouse with 800 hours runtime

Turtle Beach has unveiled a new all-around mouse for office and gaming under the ROCCAT brand that boasts an impressive battery life. The ROCCAT Kone Air is powered by standard AA batteries and is said to offer up to 800 hours of runtime.

The new ROCCAT Kone Air adds an all-around model with extra-long battery life to the peripheral manufacturer’s mouse lineup. Following the Kone Pro Air (our review) and the Kone XP Air introduced in July, the new model is aimed at office and gaming users at the same time.

The Kone Air relies on the manufacturer’s iconic and ergonomic design. Stellar wireless technology optimizes the mouse’s wireless connection for maximum performance, including lag-free 2.4 GHz wireless for fast-paced gaming or Bluetooth for on-the-go productivity and reduced power consumption.

However, the main focus is on the runtime. Thus, a usage time of over 800 hours is promised in operation with two standard AA batteries. If you wish, however, you can also operate the rodent with just one battery to reduce the weight (but correspondingly also the runtime).

But the ROCCAT Kone Air has more to offer than just a long battery life. Ergonomically designed for right-handed users, the mouse features a palm rest and double-injected rubber side grips.

Basically, the mouse has nine buttons that can be programmed with a total of 17 functions thanks to ROCCAT’s Easy-Shift[+] key duplication technology – macros, key assignments and other actions are also possible.

For the primary keys, the manufacturer relies on particularly durable and fast titanium optical switches that are supposed to withstand 100 million clicks. The Owl Eye 19K DPI optical sensor provides the necessary precision, while the heat-treated PTFE glide feet ensure quick movements.

Wirelessly, the Kone Air operates in the 2.4 GHz wireless band or via Bluetooth 5.1 and offers a polling rate of 1,000 Hz. The rodent comes with dimensions of 13.2 x 8.2 x 4.3 cm and weighs (with a battery) 119 grams.

The ROCCAT Kone Air ergonomic office and gaming mouse is available for pre-order now in Black and Arctic White on the manufacturer’s website or at participating retailers. The MSRP is 69.99 euros. The mouse will be released on November 14, 2022.
