Seagate FireCuda 540: New PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD unveiled

Seagate, a global leader in data storage solutions, recently launched the FireCuda 540 SSD, the latest generation of its solid-state drives. This next-generation SSD sets new standards for speed and durability, delivering unmatched performance for gamers, content creators and tech enthusiasts.

High speed and durability

The FireCuda 540 is Seagate’s highest-performing M.2 2280 SSD to date, offering sequential read and write speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s. Designed specifically for demanding gaming and fast content creation, it offers up to 50% faster speeds than Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSDs and is even 17x faster than SATA SSDs.

The FireCuda 540 uses the latest 3D TLC NAND technology and a Seagate validated E26 controller. This combination enables users to achieve the highest speeds and durability to push new boundaries in gaming and content creation. With plug-and-play compatibility with all PCIe Gen5 motherboards and backward compatibility with PCIe Gen4, the SSD is universal and ready for intensive use.

Optimized for Gaming and Content Creation

Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, the FireCuda 540 offers impressive longevity, even with intensive use. It offers a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 1.8 million hours and a total write workload (TBW) of up to 2,000 TB. That means gamers can overwrite and erase up to 1 TB of the drive’s capacity daily over a five-year period.

The SSD is also optimized with DirectStorage firmware that enables faster load times for PC gaming and applications. Additionally, Seagate’s three-year Rescue Data Recovery Services for data recovery and a five-year limited warranty provide added peace of mind. Also included is Seagate SeaTools™ 5.0 software, which allows users to monitor the SSD’s performance and health.

The Seagate FireCuda 540 SSD is available now for €229.90 (1 TB) and €369.90 (2 TB).
