The manufacturer Viewsonic has announced nothing less than a revolution with the Ultimate XG320U. This powerful monitor is the first 32-inch monitor to offer 4K resolution, a blazing-fast 144 Hz picture and future-proof HDMI 2.1. This should be very exciting for future owners of Xbox Series X, PS5 and Nvidia Ampere.
Prepared for the future
With its upcoming model, Viewsonic is a real gap-filler. After all, a demand is being met that theoretically does not yet exist. Soon, however, the time will come. Above all the HDMI 2.1 port of the coming monitor is crucial. After all, it supports important features of the upcoming next-gen consoles. In addition PC enthusiasts will be pleased about the support of exciting features of the coming Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series. The Ultimate XG320U comes with a 32 inch IPS panel. This resolves with razor-sharp 3,840 x 2160 pixels. So far so good. But really impressive is the frame rate of 144 Hz. In combination with HDMI 2.1, this makes the upcoming monitor from Viewsonic the perfect screen for gamers.
Perfect timing
To take full advantage of HDMI 2.1, the connection must be powerful. In particular, 48 Gbit/s are required to transmit a 10 bit signal at 144 Hz in uncompressed state. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly common for TV manufacturers to advertise HDMI 2.1, but it is often too weak. Ports with a data rate of 40 Gbit/s are unfortunately often found here. Here you have to wait and see what the upcoming monitor from Viewsonic is capable of. In terms of contrast it will probably convince. After all it supports the HDR standard HDR600. In combination with 600 cd/m² it will probably be able to produce good contrast values.
With its timing Viewsonic has done a lot of things right. After all, not only potential buyers of an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 are currently thinking about buying a new monitor. Since the release of the new GeForce RTX 3000 series is in the house, also many PC gamers might have a corresponding interest. Particularly in combination with the high resolution in 4K, the 144 Hz should be of particular interest to the powerful graphics cards.
