WhatsApp usable on multiple phones

WhatsApp introduces a new feature that meets the wishes and needs of many users. In the future, the messenger service can be used on up to four phones simultaneously. This should also be useful in a business context.

Four smartphones at the same time

Until now, WhatsApp was usable on exactly one smartphone – the one that carries the SIM card with the stored phone number in it. In addition, the service can be used on the computer for several years. To do this, the device is coupled via QR code with the smartphone on which the main version of the app is located. In the future, up to three additional cell phones will be able to be used according to a similar principle.

WhatsApp is thus responding to a frequently expressed request from users, which is primarily due to the fact that more and more people are using multiple cell phones. The new function also makes sense in a business context. WhatsApp introduced a business variant a few years ago and allowed companies to open their own accounts in Messenger. In smaller companies, it can make sense to allow several employees to access the WhatsApp account, as this can speed up communication. With the new function, exactly that is now possible.

The new function first became known with an update in January. Now it has been officially announced by Meta.
