Traditionally, Apple updates the operating systems of its devices such as the iPhone, iPad, MacBok and co. as part of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. This year’s event now has a date: WWDC 24 will take place on June 10, 2024, where iOS 18, macOS15 and more will be unveiled.
WWDC 24 brings iOS 18 and more
Apple has now officially revealed the date for WWDC 24 in a press release. From June 10 to 14, the latest developments of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS will be in the spotlight.
Of course, the main focus will be on iOS 18, which will introduce a new home screen for the iPhone and numerous major changes. There has also been talk of a series of AI functions, including a new Siri based on a Large Language Model (LLM).
In addition to iOS 18, other new operating systems will also be unveiled. For example, iPads are to be updated to iPadOS 18, while Macs and MacBooks can look forward to macOS 15. The Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses, on the other hand, are set to receive visionOS 2, which is traditionally expected to be equipped with numerous new features.
However, concrete details are of course still scarce. WWDC 24 will take place online, but Apple will also hold a keynote on site, which is primarily aimed at developers.
New Apple products at WWDC 24?
It is rather unlikely that Apple will present new products at WWDC 24, although it is not entirely impossible. After all, the MacBook Air M2 with a 15-inch display was unveiled last year. However, there are unlikely to be any new notebooks this year.
But perhaps a new version of the AirPods, the AirPods Pro or the AirPods Max. So let us be surprised. It all starts on June 10. Apple plans to publish further details, especially for developers, at the conference.
