Microsoft has introduced the Xbox Series S, which was previously only available in white, in a new black color variant. But that’s not all: the console’s storage capacity has been doubled. This upgrade provides gamers with more space for their games and data, which is a great advantage, especially for those who have a large collection of games.
Performance and compatibility
The Xbox Series S is compatible with all the games that run on the more expensive Xbox Series X. However, these games are often rendered at a lower frame rate and lower resolution. This is mainly due to the slower graphics chip with only 20 compute units, which offers a nominal processing power of 4 TFLOPs compared to the Series X’s 12 TFLOPs. The system memory, which is shared between the processor and the graphics chip, is also 37.5 percent smaller than in the Series X with 10 GB GDDR6.
