Now you can finally get your hands on the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED in Germany. The premium notebook sounds like a dream come true for content creators and other users who want a lot of performance in a compact design. It is also joined by the two OLED notebooks Vivobook S14X and S16X OLED.
Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo: A lot of performance in a compact design
It’s amazing what the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED can accommodate. For one thing, you get two touchscreens here, one of which relies on OLED technology. While one measures 14 inches, the second is 12.7 inches. The base model, which costs 1,899 Euros (~$1,899), already offers a lot of performance. An Intel Core i7-12700H is at the heart of this model. It is supported by 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM. A 512 GB PCIe SSD is supposed to provide large and above all fast storage space.
If you have a bit more money at your disposal, you can also go for the top model. Its performance data reads really impressive. For 2,999 euros you get the Intel Core i9-12900H here, which is supported by 32 GB of RAM. The storage capacity of 2 TB is four times as large as the base model. The GeForce RTX 3050 Ti from Nvidia is supposed to provide graphics power. However, there are no differences between the base and top configuration in terms of displays.
Smart dual-display design
For many, the dual-display design should be a real reason to buy. After all, Asus creates the best conditions for multitasking in its Zenbook Pro 14 Duo despite its compact size. The main display is a 14.5-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Just like the 12.4-inch second display, this one offers the option of being operated via touch control. However, the panel technology differs. Thus, the small display “only” offers IPS technology and a resolution of 2,880 x 864 pixels instead of high-contrast OLED. Of course, the entire hardware also requires a lot of power. Accordingly, it is still a big question mark for us to what extent the 76 Wh battery can provide lasting performance. Gamers who find the dual-display design cool might also be happy with the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16.
Vivobook S14X OLED and S16X OLED
Those who like it more classic, but do not want to do without OLED, should take a closer look at the Vivobooks S14X OLED and S16X OLED. Asus promises nothing less than a combination of performance, design and excellent display quality. At least on paper, both notebooks seem to have everything that is needed to fulfill these points. In the Vivobook S14X OLED, you get a 14.5-inch display that offers 2.8K resolution in the top configuration. The 16-inch S16X OLED again offers a maximum of 4K resolution.
However, the two displays are not only supposed to have a sharp resolution, but also be amazingly bright on top of that. A maximum of up to 550 nits is supposed to be possible. Creative people like photographers or videographers will also be happy about a 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Asus relies on an aluminum chassis that is up to 17.9 mm thick depending on the features. Speaking of features.
In the top configuration, there is an Intel Core i7-12700H processor as well as 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD here. Not only a low weight, but also a long battery life should underline the mobility claim of both notebooks. According to Asus, the Vivobook S14X OLED and S16X OLED should be able to last up to 14 hours. Apparently, Asus has relaunched two completely different notebook series for different tastes. The Vivobook S14X OLED is available now with an MSRP starting at 1,099 Euros. For the Vivobook S16X OLED, Asus charges an MSRP starting at 1,199 Euros. On top of that, Asus introduced its new ProArt Studiobooks just a few days ago.
