Massive ASUS ROG Hyperion full-tower gaming case launches

The ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 launches today, a futuristic and massive gaming case that offers plenty of room for high-end components and aims to set a new benchmark in airflow.

The ASUS ROG Hyperion

With the ASUS ROG Hyperion, the manufacturer wants to have created a robust yet elegant case that can easily handle the demands of current hardware. Airflow is the Hyperion’s top priority, with large channels on the front for air to flow through and a grille on the top.

Thanks to these channels and support for up to two 420mm radiators, cooling performance can be outstanding if desired, while airflow is always assured.

There is also plenty of space inside. The case supports motherboards in the E-ATX standard and offers numerous expansion slots. Even huge graphics cards like the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 find room in the case.

Either the card can be traditionally installed horizontally with a width of up to 460 mm or vertically with up to 130 mm of space for current and future models. The built-in two-way aluminum graphics card mount prevents the card from flexing in either direction, no matter how large it is.

Behind the motherboard, you have a full 34 millimeters of space available for cabling, with multiple cable grommets and a wide panel on the back including integrated cable tapes for tidy cable management. A built-in ARGB controller accommodates all Aura Sync devices and supports up to eight ARGB devices and six PWM fans.

Large and Sophisticated

Measuring 269 mm x 639 mm x 659 mm (width x height x depth), the ROG Hyperion weighs a whopping 20.8 kilograms. ASU has thought of a small compartment inside to store extra screws, cable ties and PCIe slot covers. Even a small screwdriver finds room here.

The side panels are completely tool-less and the PSU cover has been designed to ensure airflow and the holes are small enough to prevent screws from falling through. There is also a small opening in the cover for the ROG Thor’s OLED panel to display power consumption.

Also included is an optional lighting panel that can be installed next to the motherboard. If not, you’ll have extra room for a radiator, ARGB fan, or multiple 2.5-inch SSDs here.

The aluminum frame of the case simultaneously acts as sturdy handles that run along the front of the case and meet under a black-colored ARGB logo.

In the I/O panel, you have your choice of four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (Type-C) ports, and a combined 3.5mm jack port.

Price and availability

The ASUS ROG Hyperion GR701 PC case is available in stores now. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 419.90 euros. You can find more information on the website of ASUS.
