MWC 2023: D-Link announces AQUILA PRO AI series with Wi-Fi 6/6E

The MWC 2023 in Barcelona is slowly coming to an end, but still numerous product news reach us. Manufacturer D-Link is also represented and presents the AQUILA PRO AI series with Wi-Fi 6/6E mesh solutions based on the Matter standard.

The D-Link AQUILA PRO AI series in detail

D-Link’s new AQUILA PRO AI series includes state-of-the-art and futuristic-looking Wi-Fi6/6E mesh routers and extenders designed to improve the connectivity and reliability of smart home networks. Not least thanks to an integrated AI algorithm that is supposed to improve WLAN reception.

In terms of design, D-Link has outdone itself, because visually, especially the M30 and M60 models – no more can be seen in pictures so far – look more like a healthcare accessory than a WLAN router.

For a perfect smart home experience, the AQUILA PRO AI mesh WLAN system offers high tri-band speeds of up to 7,800 Mbps, enhanced coverage and intelligent WLAN communication. The routers are equipped with a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports, giving directly connected end devices plenty of space with the highest data rates.

In total, the AQUILA PRO AI series includes six models designed to meet different needs:

The MS78 is a Matter-compatible AX7800 tri-band Wi-Fi 6E router, the MS60 AX6000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router and the MS30 AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router. All three seamlessly connect Matter-compatible smart home devices to the network.

The M60 AX6000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router, M30 AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router and E30 AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 range extender complete the series and apparently come without Matter support. In addition, all models can be easily managed via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant using voice control

AI technology for the smart home network

Artificial intelligence is already embedded in the name of the D-Link AQUILA PRO AI series. Here, the algorithm includes the AI Wi-Fi Optimiser, AI Mesh Optimiser and AI Traffic Optimiser, which are designed to improve the performance of wireless networks fully automatically.

The AI Wi-Fi Optimiser automatically selects and connects the best WLAN channel to minimize interference. The AI Mesh Optimiser, on the other hand, enables stronger and more stable network coverage, including self-healing capabilities.

While the AI Traffic Optimiser uses AI-based QoS (Quality of Service) technology to intelligently prioritize network traffic, giving priority to high bitrate streaming or gaming, for example. Or prioritizes video conferencing in the home office over kids gambling.

Easy Smart Home Setup

The Matter-enabled D-Link AQUILA PRO AI app allows for easy setup of the smart-home network. In an intuitive user interface, even non-experts shall be guided through the setup process with step-by-step instructions to add Matter-compatible devices to the smart home network.

For straightforward management and control of the network, the app displays all Matter-compatible devices in one central location. The Smart Scene function can be used to automate processes in the smart home.

Prices and Availability

When and at what prices the market launch of the D-Link AQUILA PRO AI series will take place, is currently not yet determined. Here there will probably be additional information shortly before the release.
