Samsung introduces its new generation tablets with the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra. All three tablets come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC. The Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+ are equipped with either 8 GB or 12 GB of working memory and 128 or 256 GB of flash storage. The Ultra model comes with 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of flash storage.

Another striking feature of the Ultra model is the notch at the top edge of the display, which houses two 12-megapixel cameras for video calls. They are composed of a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle lens that offer 4K video quality. The integrated Auto Framing technology can ensure that the participants can be kept in focus during the video call while zooming in or out.

Cameras, other features and design

All three tablets in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series have four speakers installed and support Dolby Atmos. The series’ three precision microphones use advanced noise-canceling technology to counteract unwanted background noise.

On the rear, the tablets rely on a dual camera, consisting of a main camera with 13 megapixels and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 6 megapixels.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series is also the first tablet series from Samsung that supports Wi-Fi 6E. Thanks to the use of the 6 gigahertz frequency for WLAN transmissions, this ensures increased speed with lower latency.

Samsung does not mention concrete details about the size of the installed battery. However, it is supposed to allow 15 hours of video playback for Tab S8, 13 hours of video playback for Tab S8+ and 14 hours of video playback for Tab S8 Ultra.
