Soundcore: Liberty 3 Pro True Wireless earphones unveiled

Soundcore, the audio brand of Anker Innovations, has introduced new True Wireless in-ear headphones, the Liberty 3 Pro. They rely on a unique active noise cancellation technology called “HearID ANC” that monitors ambient noise as well as pressure in the ear in real time to adjust noise cancellation to the situation. Battery life and features also make for interesting earbuds.

Improved sound

From a technical perspective, the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro come up with some exciting features. For example, the earbuds rely on the latest Astria Coaxial Acoustic Architecture 2.0 technology (ACAA 2.0), which allows even the finest details of the music to be represented in all their nuances. For this, 10.6 mm dynamic drivers are used to display the additional details.

Bluetooth version 5.2 is used, whereby the high-resolution LDAC codec is the maximum codec that can handle three times the amount of data compared to standard Bluetooth formats. Qualcomm aptX on the other hand is not available in any version, which is a pity. aptX Adaptive would offer significantly lower latencies compared to LDAC.

To make the listening experience even more individual and to tune the sound even better to the listener, users can use the HearID sound feature in the Soundcore app, which can independently amplify the frequencies that are missing for each ear after a simple listening test. Combined with HearID ANC, active noise cancellation is also adjusted to the user’s idiosyncrasies, analyzing not only ambient noise but also pressure on the ear.

According to the manufacturer, the sound was tested and recommended by 20 Grammy award-winning audio producers, which of course reads great on paper, but has little validity in practice. If desired, there is even a 3D surround sound algorithm for a three-dimensional soundstage, but it is not available in LDAC or EQ modes.

The transparency mode, which can be adjusted, also turns out to be exciting. You can decide for yourself how much and which sounds are allowed to pass through. Whether completely transparent, with reduced background noise or with amplified human voices. The “Enhanced Vocal” function for voice enhancement will be available via update from the end of the year.

High wearing comfort

In terms of design, the new Fusion Comfort technology is said to provide an especially high level of wearing comfort. For example, the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro feature an ergonomic design for a comfortable fit with silicone ear wings that have an air pressure relief structure to make them easier to wear. In addition, the earphones are 30 percent smaller than the previous generation Liberty 2 Pro and meet IPX4 waterproof rating.

The Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro’s battery life is also quite respectable. The earbuds are supposed to last up to eight hours without ANC (60 hours with ANC). The charging case charges the 3 Pro up to three times, so we reach a maximum of 32 hours of battery life.

Charging is done via USB Type C or wireless charging. Thanks to fast charging technology (Anker Fast Charging), 15 minutes of charging time is enough to power the in-ear headphones for three hours of music playback. In addition, the Liberty 3 Pro have Multipoint Connection to connect two devices at the same time.
