Synology, a renowned company in network storage solutions, recently launched its latest NAS system, the DS223j. Designed as an entry-level device, the DS223j is the latest model in Synology’s J-series, replacing the DS220j.
Technical Specifications
The DS223j is equipped with a Realtek RTD1619B processor and 1GB of DDR4 non-ECC memory. It has a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and an RJ-45 1GbE LAN port for external connections. The dual hard drive bays support up to 36TB capacity.
Support for Btrfs file system
With the upcoming release of DSM 7.2, the DS223j will be the first Synology J-Series NAS to support the Btrfs file system. This file system provides a self-repair function that helps prevent data corruption. It also supports Synology’s Snapshot Replication technology. By taking regular snapshots, users can easily undo unwanted and accidental changes to files.

The DS223j is available now. The suggested retail price is €169.00 excluding VAT and €201.10 including 19% VAT.
