With the Verbatim Vi3000 and Vi7000G, the manufacturer has introduced two new SSDs. While the Vi3000 in PCIe Gen 3 standard is aimed at notebooks and desktop PCs, the faster Vi7000G is suitable for gaming PCs and the PlayStation 5 console thanks to PCIe 4.
Verbatim Vi3000 SSD
The new Verbatim Vi3000 M.2 PCIe Gen 3 NVMe SSD is designed for those looking to upgrade their system’s storage solution as well as boost the performance of desktops, laptops and small form factor systems.
It gets up to 3,300 MB/s in sequential reads and writes and achieves up to 150,000 IOPS, as well as a lifetime of up to 1,500 TBW. The manufacturer also promises an advanced controller and high-speed 3D NAND flash chips.
Offered in capacities of 256GB, 52GB, TB and 2TB, the SSD comes in the M.2-2280 form factor in each case. More details are provided here by the official product website of the manufacturer.
Verbatim Vi7000G with higher speeds
In contrast, the Verbatim Vi7000G, which relies on PCIe Gen 4, comes along significantly faster. It is especially suitable for gaming PCs and can be used in the PlayStation 5. Sequential read speeds of up to 7,400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,700 MB/s are achieved. Up to 800,000 IOPS for reading and 1 million IOPS for writing are possible.
It features a heat sink and DRAM cache for extreme performance, and comes in at up to 2 terabytes of capacity. Again, there are additional details on the official website.
