Amazfit, a Zepp brand, has launched two new GPS watches: the Cheetah and the Cheetah Pro. While most Amazfit watches are designed for a variety of sports, the Cheetah series models are designed specifically for runners. Zepp has improved its dual-band GPS antenna to provide more accurate location tracking. The company claims that accuracy is now 99.5% compared to a professional GPS locator. This new location tracking technology, known as MaxTrack, minimizes interference from obstacles such as tall buildings, trees and cloudy skies.
AI-assisted training and navigation
The Zepp app, available for iOS and Android, allows users to import GPX route files and download color offline maps for navigation directly from the wrist. Zepp has also improved its adaptive AI training tool. Zepp Coach creates customized training plans to help users achieve their goals. Cheetah watch users in select countries can try the new Zepp Coach AI chat feature for free before it becomes a subscription service. With this new chatbot tool, users can ask sports-related questions in natural language and receive easy-to-understand answers.
Design and Operation
Both watches are operated via a digital crown with a smooth scroll function, a single physical button and an AMOLED touchscreen. Both have a fiber-reinforced polymer case, and the Cheetah Pro features a lightweight titanium alloy bezel.
Availability and Price
The watches are already available. The Cheetah is available for 229.90 euros, while the Cheetah Pro retails for 299.90 euros. A square version of the Cheetah will be available soon.
