Cooler Master MM712: New ultra-light gaming mouse unveiled

With the Cooler Master MM712, you can expect an updated version of the manufacturer’s MM711 ultra-light gaming mouse, which already debuted in 2019. Nearly all holes are a thing of the past in the new-look design, while weight has been maintained.

The Cooler Master MM712 in detail

The new Cooler Master MM712 gaming mouse presents itself as an evolution of the MM711. It can be used wirelessly and is offered in white and black. It relies on a similarly simple and timeless design, but one that fills almost all of the holes of its predecessor while maintaining its weight.

The MM712’s clever, structured design keeps the overall weight at 59 grams with no physical changes to the case. This results in an even cleaner look, accented by the logo on the back of the mouse in RGB lighting.

The 500 mAh battery provides up to 181 hours of Bluetooth use and up to 80 hours of 2.4 GHz wireless use if you choose not to use the backlight. You can use the mouse either wirelessly or with a USB Type-C cable.

Wirelessly, you have a choice of 2.4 GHz for virtually lag-free input or Bluetooth 5.1 for easy, convenient connectivity with an effective range of up to 10 meters.

Optical switches and powerful sensor

Technically, the Cooler Master MM712 is equipped with optical microswitches. These use laser sensors, which provide for an almost non-existent debounce time. Inputs are thus implemented almost without delay. The switches are supposed to react three times faster than classic mechanical switches.

Since there are no moving parts, wear is also significantly lower compared to mechanical switches over the same period of time.

The PAW3370 optical Pixart sensor with 19,000 DPI is used, which promises high speeds and convincing precision. The MM712 comes with new and improved sliding feet, which are made of white PTFE material with a purity level of over 95 percent.

This is said to enable superior gliding properties that surpass most mice on the market. The Cooler Master Ultraweave Cable is extra soft and flexible compared to conventional mouse cables. A Type-A to Type-C adapter is also included. With the help of Mouse Grip Tape, the grip can also be increased.

Price and Availability

The Cooler Master MM712 lightweight gaming mouse is expected to make its way to retail stores “shortly” at an undisclosed date. MSRP is set at 72.99 euros. For more information, check out the manufacturer’s product website.
