Manufacturer LG already left the tablet and smartphone segment a few years ago. Now they have introduced a new tablet with the LG UltraTab, which is offered with decent features at a fair price. After the innovative monitors like the Libero 27BQ70QC and the smart TV LG OLED Evo ART90, it is clear that the manufacturer apparently wants to position itself more broadly again from now on.
The LG UltraTab in detail
The new LG UltraTab is a big surprise, because the manufacturer’s last tablet was already around seven years ago. Now, the company is apparently planning to enter the highly competitive Android device market once again.
The UltraTab relies on a 26.3 cm WUXGA+ IPS display with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. However, the refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz. The Snapdragon 680 from Qualcomm is used as the SoC, which is manufactured in a 6 nm process and offers eight cores with a maximum clock rate of 2.4 GHz.
It is supported by 4 GB of LPDDR4x working memory. The internal storage of 64 GB is quite tight, but can be expanded via microSD card. However, the battery of the 247.6 x 157.3 mm large and 7.1 mm thick tablet is quite ample. It has 27.1 watt hours (7,040 mAh) and can be charged with a maximum of 25 watts.
Robust construction
It quickly becomes clear that LG’s UltraTab is not an absolute high-end tablet. However, the manufacturer relies on a certification according to military standard MIL-STD-810G. Android 12 is used as the operating system.
Other features include a total of four speakers with a power of 1 watt each, as well as two cameras (5 megapixels at the front, 8 megapixels with auto focus at the back). The tablet communicates wirelessly via Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 1×1 and Bluetooth 5.1.
LG also offers a folio sleeve with a keyboard as an option. A stylus will also be offered with the tablet.

Price and Availability
The LG UltraTab has so far only been announced for the manufacturer’s home market of Korea. It is scheduled to be released there in October 2022. The MSRP is 512,800 South Korean won, which is the equivalent of about 387 euros. However, the tablet starts with a discount for the equivalent of around 349 Euros (462,000 KRW). It is currently unclear whether the tablet will also make it to Europe.
