Roborock is a well-known manufacturer in the field of smart household helpers. However, we actually know the company primarily for its powerful vacuum robots and cordless vacuum cleaners. At CES 2023, the Xiaomi subsidiary also presented the second generation of its vacuum wiper with its Roborock Dyad Pro. The initial data sounds promising.
Roborock Dyad Pro lives up to its name
Roborock is extremely busy at CES 2023, as we already reported yesterday that the household expert presented the new S8 series of its own vacuum robots. But that was not enough. On top of that, the Chinese presented us with an upgrade of the Roborock Dyad. In our test, Roborock’s suction mop premiere already won a Gold Award a few months ago. At that time, we only had reason to complain about the questionable stand design. The retractable stand made the household helper a bit impractical when it came to putting it down.
With the Roborock Dyad Pro, however, the company wants to have improved a few things to match the “Pro” suffix in its name. For one thing, there is the uprated performance. In its new version, the squeegee is supposed to offer a proud 17,000 Pascal. This should improve the already strong cleaning performance even more. The Roborock Dyad Pro also retains the almost rimless design of the brush head. The big advantage to this is that you can drive along the baseboard without leaving large uncleaned areas. Here Roborock was and is quite a bit ahead of the competition, such as the Tineco Floor One S3 (test).
Proven roller system with smart cleaning dosage
The total of three rollers of the predecessor are also used again. Here, two smaller rollers work at the front and a continuous large roller behind. The new dual roller system should once again enable smooth movement of the device, which is quite heavy from experience. Finally, the rollers support driving with the squeegee by turning in the corresponding direction, which is supposed to make the Roborock Dyad Pro virtually float through the apartment. In its presentation, the manufacturer also emphasizes an intelligent dosage of the included cleaning solution. The new DirTect sensor is then supposed to provide smart regulation.
While the predecessor could only regulate the suction power and water flow rate, the cleaning strength can now also be regulated. So that you do not have to introduce new cleaning agent every time, there is a practical canister in the cleaning head, which should be able to provide enough space for up to 600 minutes of cleaning. As befits a suction mop, the Roborock Dyad Pro also has the ability to clean itself. For this, you just have to spend it in its dock. Here, not only are the rollers rinsed through, but they are also dried afterwards to prevent foul odors. The battery is said to be pleasantly enduring with up to 40 minutes of cleaning time.
Price and Availability
By the way, the best innovation from my point of view is that Roborock has eliminated the unnecessary stand. Instead, the Roborock Dyad Pro can now stand vertically on the cleaning head like its competitors. We probably won’t have to wait much longer for the release. Roborock promises that sales in this country will start shortly. Those who want to use the squeegee directly for the appropriately timed spring cleaning will have to pay an MSRP of 449 Euros. More information is available on the official Roborock website.
